If you're in Gangnam, try Hwangto Hwangto in Yeoksam-dong. It's a bit of a walk from the station but they grill the 막창 over actual charcoal, which makes a big difference in texture. The staff handles the grilling for you, so you don't have to worry about overcooking it. They also have a decent 소주 selection if you want to pair it properly.

Since you're in Gangnam, try Gopchang Story in Seolleung. It's a small place run by an ajumma who's been doing it for years - the seasoning on their 막창 is way less sweet than most spots, which I prefer. They also do a mean 된장찌개 at the end to soak up all the leftover grease. Get there before 7pm or you'll be waiting, it's only like 8 tables

honestly i just walked into any random place in hongdae and it was fine. 더막창 is decent if u want a chain thats reliable.

honestly past midnight the move is the 24hr gukbap spot just up from the crossing on the Kondae side, not the alley. quiet, cheap, and they don't rush u out. if u want something lighter the convenience store triangle kimbap at the GS25 by the path hits at 2am more than it should.
