I've read, that the circumcision rate is rather high in Korea, that's why I wondered about it. Maybe you can help me.

Yes, it's possible as a foreigner. Most larger hospitals in Seoul with international clinics can handle it, like Samsung Medical Center or Severance. You'll want to look for a urologist specifically, not a general surgeon, and expect to pay around 1-2 million won depending on the method and hospital. Make sure you bring your passport and be ready to pay upfront since foreigner health insurance usually doesn't cover elective circumcision.

honestly if you're considering it, timing matters a lot here. most korean guys get it done young so the clinics are set up for that, but adult procedures are totally normal too. just know recovery is harder in the summer because it's humid and sweaty, winter or spring is better for healing

also fwiw the korean "non-scalpel" method is basically the same as the shanghai or sleeveless technique, it's been the standard here for like 20 years. the scar line tends to be less defined compared to a traditional cut, some people prefer that look. if you want the suture marks and cleaner line you gotta push for the open method, but expect a longer recovery time

one thing nobody mentioned is that you should bring your own loose boxers or a supportive pouch thing. the clinics here will give you some basic gauze but they don't really supply post-op underwear like in the west. i had a buddy who just wore compression shorts and regretted it badly

yeah you can get it done pretty easily here, tons of guys do it. just be aware that a lot of korean clinics use the "non-scalpel" method which is different from what you might be used to in the west. it's less invasive but some guys say the results look a bit different. if you want the traditional cut you gotta specifically ask for the "open method" or "scalpel method" at the consultation.

also check out smaller private urology clinics in gangnam or jongno, they're often cheaper than the big hospitals and the doctors speak decent english. i went to one near gangnam station and paid like 800k won a few years back. just make sure they give you the full price upfront since some places try to add fees for anesthesia or follow ups later.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
