Anccibrush in Seoul?

Hello! Has anyone actually visited Anccibrush in Seoul? Is it worth the trip to that area?

If you went, what did you end up buying and about how much did you spend?

Always like a second (more real!)…

Always like a second (more real!) opinion of anything I see a lot of influencer posts about :)

The thing that gets overlooked is their online shop. I ordered two of the cushion puffs and a brush from their Naver store last month and picked up at a CU convenience store near my office the next day, no trip to Sinsa needed. Prices were identical to in-store minus the crowd, and they actually had the puff size that was sold out when a friend walked in the same week. If you just want to try the products without committing to the Garosu-gil detour, that's the move, though the boutique experience itself is part of what people are paying for.

I'd second the Olive Young point but add a caveat: their brush cleaner and the little silicone mat are actually house-brand and I haven't seen equivalents elsewhere. Bought those two for about 25,000 won combined and they've held up fine after six months of weekly use. The brushes themselves I'd skip, the cushion puffs at any pharmacy in Myeongdong do the same job for a third of the price.

One thing nobody's mentioned is that they run a small stamp card, but only for in-store purchases and only on the brushes, not the puffs or cleaners. Five brushes gets you a sixth free, which sounds generous until you realize most people don't buy five brushes in a year. I asked about it in January and the staff were pretty upfront that it's mostly for regulars.

On pricing, the cushions run 28,000 to 35,000 won depending on the case, and the basic brush line sits around 18,000. If you're comparing to Olive Young, the gap is maybe 30 percent on identical items. My take is the store is worth 20 minutes if you're already doing Garosu-gil, but the Naver shop is the smarter play for anything you actually need.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
