Best place to find a lot of Pokemon packs around Seoul, Gwangjin-gu?

Hey, I've been desperately looking for Pokémon cards. There are always some in the CU or in a small kiosk but I'm looking for something bigger nearby :) Anyone have an idea where I could look? there's a hobby shop inside the 건대입구 station area near the star city mall that usually has a decent selection, not just the random convenience store packs. they stock korean and japanese sets, prices are fair for the area too. if you're willing to go a bit further, the big daiso in seongsu has been getting special merchandise boxes lately but those go fast on weekends

if you can make it to the toy alley in janghanpyeong, about a 15 minute bus from gwangjin, there's a shop called toy nara that has a whole wall of pokemon packs. they're korean edition mostly but sometimes japanese boosters show up. the owner runs it like a mini hobby store so prices are closer to retail than the convenience store markup. just check their hours, they close earlier than you'd expect

honestly if you're near 건대입구 already, try the underground shopping arcade that connects to the station. there's a small card shop tucked near exit 5 that carries booster boxes and tins, not just single packs. they sometimes have older sets too if you ask nicely. the owner speaks some english so it's easy enough to browse

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
