Anyone up for some raw crab?

I've never had it before and I'm new to Korea. Also, if you hike, I would be interested in this also. Thanks I've never had it before and I'm new to Korea. Also, if you hike, I would be interested in this also. Thanks

if you're new to raw crab, go to jinmi sikdang in mapo-gu, it's a tiny spot near mangwon station that does gyejang really well. for hiking, bukansan is the obvious one but it can get packed on weekends, try the back side near ui-dong for a calmer climb with better views of the city

yeah raw crab is great, you gotta try it at gwangjang market, lots of little stalls there that serve it fresh. for hiking, you should check out inwangsan, it's not as crowded as bukansan and has those cool granite peaks right in the city.

honestly raw crab is one of those things you either love or hate but its worth trying at least once. if you want a less intimidating intro find a place that does yangnyeom gejang (seasoned soy sauce version) instead of the spicy one, the flavors are more familiar. for hiking i'd skip bukansan on your first go and hit namsan instead, its way shorter and gives you a solid view of the city without killing your legs. the trail behind namsan tower starts near hankook university of foreign studies station, takes like 40 minutes to the top

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
