Gym membership in Seoul for Foreigners?

Hi, wondering if anyone is running into this issue but haven't seen it in my reddit searches yet.

I tried 2 different gyms near the SNU station -- SpoAny and Gymboxx, since they're within my budget. I'm looking for a gym for 3 months. but SpoAny's registration required me to have a korean ARC, gymboxx wouldn't let me pay for the month without a korean bank account (but when I borrowed my Korean friends account it still didn't work).

any foreigners have any idea how I can get a 3 mo. (or even 1 mo.) membership at any gym near SNU station? not trying to go all the way to campus for gym since I only go to campus like 2x a week. any help is much appreciated. (oh and if anyone knows where I can find a blender bottle too that would be much appreciated)

tbh the arc thing is just how korean gyms work, theyre all tied to the phone verification system. for 3 months you might have better luck at the gwanak public sports center near seoul national university of education station instead of snu station. its a bit of a walk but they take passport and cash, about 35k a month and the equipment is decent enough for a short stay

for the blender bottle the daiso at nokbeon station has them but honestly the one inside snu station itself has a smaller selection. the emart near snu station exit 1 has branded ones for like 8k but if youre near nokbeon station exit 3 theres a little sports shop that sells them for 5k, theyre the knockoff brand but work fine

I lived near SNU station for a year and ran into the same wall with the chain gyms. Try the public fitness center at Gwanak-gu Office, it's about a 5 minute walk from exit 2. They take passport registration and charge around 40,000 won per month, no ARC needed. The equipment is older but clean and never crowded during weekday mornings.

For the blender bottle, the Daiso at Nakseongdae station exit 3 has them near the back by the kitchen supplies. They're usually 2,000 to 3,000 won and come in a few colors. If they're out, the Emart near SNU station entrance 1 has the branded ones for about 8,000 won in the sporting goods aisle.

The ARC issue is pretty standard for big chains in Seoul, but you can try the public gym at Gwanak-gu Office. It's a 10 minute walk from SNU station exit 2, and they let foreigners sign up with just a passport for monthly passes. It's about 40,000 won a month and has basic equipment, nothing fancy but it works.

For the blender bottle, COEX Mall's Daiso has the biggest selection I've seen, but that's a trek from SNU. The Daiso at Nakseongdae station exit 3 usually has them in stock too, it's closer and you can grab one on your way home.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
