Plastic Surgery - Any locals willing to share?

But I'm just having a difficult time trusting anything I am reading. One person who had surgery just said (paraphrasing) you just do your best to find a doctor and then it's up luck in a way. But I have also read really good places don't even advertise. I'm looking for a clinic for some eye work and a neck lift if anyone knows of a place. Thanks so much!

Gangnam has a lot of "consultants" who work on commission and will push you toward pricier procedures, so try to go directly through the clinic's Korean website or Naver blog if you can read some Korean. For eyes and a neck lift, Dr. Kim at Yonsei Plus in Apgujeong has a decent reputation among Korean women in their 40s and 50s for natural-looking results. If you're in Seoul for a while, spend an afternoon walking around the streets near Sinsa station exit 3 and pop into a few places unannounced, the vibe of the reception area and how they treat walk-ins tells you a lot.

Yeah, the whole luck thing isn't totally wrong, but you can stack the odds. For eyes and a neck lift I'd look for a clinic that does a lot of facial bone work, they tend to be more precise with soft tissue too. ID Hospital in Apgujeong has a decent rep for that kind of combo work, just make sure you talk to the actual surgeon and not a consultant.

the whole "good places don't advertise" thing is kinda true but also overblown. a lot of the big-name clinics in gangnam that you see on instagram are fine for basic stuff, they just spend a lot on marketing. for eyes and a neck lift you probably want someone who specializes in facial contouring or anti-aging, not just a general plastic surgeon. i'd look at clinics around sinsa or apgujeong station, not the main gangnam boulevard where it's all pricey and touristy. if you want a specific name to start researching, i've heard decent things about view plastic surgery from locals, but do your own consult in person if you can, no translator

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
