The idea is to use photos taken inside the subway to provide step-by-step visual directions to help users get to their desired station. This app would guide users with pictures of landmarks and important spots inside the subway stations, making it easier for those unfamiliar with the language or area.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback or thought on this idea. Do you think this would be helpful?

honestly, the photo idea is cool but i'd think about the maintenance side first. stations change, exits get renovated, and those tiny landmarks you photograph might disappear. you'd be updating pics constantly, which is a huge time sink.

also, most tourists already have naver map or kakao map on their phones, and those do the job with AR arrows and real-time transfers. your app would need to be noticeably better or solve a specific pain point, like finding the right exit for a specific building. that's honestly the hardest part of seoul subway, not the train itself.

if you do build it, focus on exit numbers and nearby convenience stores or cafes as anchors. those don't move as much as art installations. and maybe start with just the busiest stations like gangnam or hongdae, not all 300+ of them.

fwiw, i think the photo idea misses the real problem. tourists get lost in the station itself, sure, but the bigger issue is figuring out which exit leads to their hotel or the street they want. naver map already does indoor maps for major stations, and it shows you the exit number with a little arrow. your app would need to beat that, and pics alone won't do it.

but if you're set on photos, try a different angle: shoot the exit stairs from street level looking down, not inside the station. that's where people actually hesitate. like at seoul station, exit 13 vs 14 is a 10 minute walk difference and nobody knows that until they're already up.

also, think about the data. the subway app market here is brutal, most people just use kakao map and deal with it. you'd need to nail the offline mode, since tourists often don't have data roaming right away. and maybe partner with a hostel or two to beta test, that's where you'll get real feedback fast.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
