honestly just walk into any of the little stationary shops near hongdae's main street, not the big chains. there's a tiny one on the side alley near the james jeans outlet that has a basket of folding fans near the register, like the traditional kind with wood and paper. they're cheap too, around 3,000 won each. if you're in gangnam just hit the underground shopping center at gangnam station exit 8 or 9, the older ladies selling accessories always have them hanging on hooks. way easier than hunting in daiso
Try Insadong, it's a short subway ride from both areas. The little craft shops along the main street usually have nice hand-painted fans, not the cheap plastic ones. You'll find them for around 5,000 to 15,000 won depending on the design. Also check Namdaemun Market's souvenir alley, the vendors there stack them in big bins and you can flip through to find a pattern you like.
insadong is prob your best bet but since you're based in hongdae, take the 2 line to euljiro 3-ga and walk to the jongno side, there's a row of traditional craft shops near the jogyesa temple entrance. those shops sell the proper folding fans with hanji paper and bamboo ribs, not the printed ones. they'll run u about 8,000 won but they actually hold up when you use them
if you want something cheaper just for the trip, the dongdaemun shopping complex has a whole basement floor of souvenir stalls. go down the stairs near exit 6 and walk past the sock guys, the third row of stalls on your left has a lady who sells fans for 2,000 won each. she's got them in a cardboard box under her table so u might have to ask

the n37 bus tip is gold, i've used it more times than i can count. one thing i'd add for the hongdae crowd is that if you're into the indie scene, skip club ff and go to strange fruit instead, it's a tiny basement venue off the main drag that books local punk and shoegaze bands for like 5k won cover. the sound system is janky but the energy is way more authentic than the tourist-heavy spots. also for gangnam, the line at octagon can hit 30 minutes on weekends so get there before 11pm or just go to arena which is less crowded imo
