Is there a requirement to be slim to enter a bar in Seoul?

Most of the people in the video had slim bodies. Is this because most people in Seoul are slim, or is it because bars don't accept non-slim people?

honestly you're overthinking this. seoul bars are pretty chill about body type, nobody's checking your bmi at the door. the video prob just reflects what most young people here look like since diet and lifestyle are different, but clubs in hongdae or gangnam care way more about your shoes and whether you're with a group than your weight

one thing nobody mentioned is that some places in hongdae have a "no foreigners" vibe at certain bars, but that's more about language barriers than looks. if you're 18 just be ready for some places to say no because of the drinking age thing, especially if you look young. try starting at a pocha in hongdae instead, they're more relaxed and you can actually talk to people without worrying about door policies

nah you're fine, there's no weight requirement to get into bars here. the video prob just shows slim people because that's kinda the average body type in Seoul, not because bars are filtering anyone out. it's more about your outfit and vibe - like if you roll up in sweatpants to a club in gangnam they might give u a look, but that's about it.

fwiw at 18 you'll need your passport since the legal drinking age is 19 here (korean age, but they go by birth year). some places might be strict about it, especially in hongdae or itaewon. just don't show up wasted and you'll be fine regardless of size

yeah no worries, bars here don't have any size requirement. the video just shows what's common on the streets honestly, most people are slim but it's not like a door policy thing. the real gatekeeping is age related at 18 tbh, some places in hongdae might turn u away for being under 19 korean age so bring your passport just in case. weight is not even a factor anyone cares about

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
