Where can i buy Dubai chocolate? 두바이 초콜렛 어디서 삼?

ngl the hongdae place is solid but if you're near itaewon check out the lebanese grocery on usadan-ro, they have actual dubai-style chocolate bars imported from the uae. way less markup than the tourist spots. just ask the ajumma at the counter, she'll point you to the shelf in the back

the hype is real but honestly most of the stuff near myeongdong is overpriced tourist bait. if u want the actual good one go to the little bakery in hongdae called "dubai chocolate" near exit 2, they make it fresh and it's way cheaper. the lotte one is fine but it's mass produced.

oh for crying out loud, not this again. there's like 5 different places in myeongdong alone that sell it, just walk around and you'll trip over a stall. but if you want the real stuff go to lotte department store food court or that shop in gangnam station

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
