I found a pocket of tranny and gay bars in Itaewon - come along?

American guy, teacher (but not in Korea). 40s, educated, friendly, open-minded...any Koreans wanna come along to some cool bars tonight? I'm looking for open-minded Korean friends. Am 1,000% kinkster… American guy, teacher (but not in Korea). 40s, educated, friendly, open-minded...any Koreans wanna come along to some cool bars tonight? This is kind of a secluded pocket of places that providence led me to today, so I don't want to say exactly where it is, but if you make contact with me, I'll share some addresses and photos.

Am eager to leave at about 8pm. Direct message me please. :)

kinda curious what pocket you found, there's a few hidden spots around hamilton hotel side that most people walk right past. the korean queer scene here is pretty insular so you might have better luck finding local friends through the weekend club nights rather than bar hopping solo. if you're still out later, the crowd at seori around midnight tends to be more mixed and chatty

you might wanna check out the homo hill area if you haven't already, it's a bit more concentrated and easy to find new people. most spots there are pretty welcoming and the crowd tends to be more mixed with locals and expats. just head up the main itaewon hill past the mcdonald's and take a left at the top

honestly just be careful about posting exact locations on a public forum. there's been some iffy stuff happening around itaewon lately and you never know who's reading. hope u find some chill people to hang with tho

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
