Weird question, how formal are the everyday outfits of employees in Samsung HQ (or other offices in general) ?

What kind… I'm about to visit seoul for a business trip, and because it's gonna be a big culture shift from India to South korea, I'm super conscious about being overdressed/underdressed in the office. What kind of clothes do men wear to their workplaces? For instance here in India, blazers or coats are wore by people at higher positions. Also, younger generation of employees mostly walks around in t-shirts and jeans.

To add do my worries, it's also believed that koreans are ahead of the world in terms of fashion and clothing 😅

Any help folks?

samsung hq and gangnam offices in general lean business formal but not in a stiff way. think dark slacks, a tucked in button down, maybe a knit tie if ur feeling fancy. blazers are common for managers and up but even junior guys wear jackets sometimes

younger employees at samsung won't be in tshirts and jeans like india, maybe a polo and chinos on fridays if the team is chill. the fashion thing is real but it's more about fit and fabric than flashy brands. just avoid anything too loud or casual and you'll blend in fine

if you're meeting clients or higher ups stick to a suit no tie, that's the sweet spot here. no one will bat an eye at a well fitted blazer even if you're the only one wearing it

honestly you'll probably be fine with dark slacks and a button down no tie, that's the standard for most office workers here. blazers are common but not required, just make sure your clothes fit well and aren't wrinkled and you'll look more put together than half the foreigners i see

yeah the fashion thing is real but more about looking clean and put together than trendy. for samsung specifically, ditch the tshirt and jeans idea unless you're in a super casual team like R&D or gaming. most guys wear dark slacks, a button down, maybe a sweater over it if it's cold. no need for a tie unless you're meeting big bosses. blazers are fine but you might feel a bit overdressed if you're not in management. just stick to neutral colors and you'll be good

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
