Anyone know of any busking happening today/over the weekend?

if you're up for a bit of a wander, check out the area around gangnam station on a saturday afternoon. there's usually a few singers and bands near the exit 4 side by the kpop dance studio buildings, kinda random but they're there from like 2pm til 7pm. also the seoul forest park on sundays has some acoustic guitar folks near the main lawn, more chill and less of a crowd, shows up around 3pm

hongdae is your best bet for sure, especially around the playground area near hongdae station exit 9. fridays and saturdays you'll find people set up from like 6pm until midnight or so, sometimes later if the weather's good. sinchon has some too but it's more hit or miss tbh, mostly around the main street near yonsei ro

if you want something different, head to hongdae street near the CGV, there's a spot where dancers and musicians gather by the fountain. not as crowded as the main playground but the vibe's chill. times are similar, late afternoon onward

honestly the hongdae playground is the obvious spot but if you want something more lowkey try the area near sangsu station exit 4. there's a little open space by the cafe street where some acoustic duos set up on saturday afternoons, usually around 3-5pm. not as many people so it's easier to just sit on the curb and listen

also check out the yeonnam-dong park on sunday evenings, there's a guy who does like indie covers on a loop pedal near the picnic tables. starts around 5pm and goes til it gets dark, real cozy vibe

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
