In my eager enthusiasm when I first moved here I bought Ehwa Korean 4-6 thinking I'd get there. Well I was fooling myself. I'm getting ready to leave for good and hoping I might be able to sell them for something since they have never been used. Are there any used bookshops that do things like this?

tbh the easiest route is just walking into one of the smaller book cafes near edae or sinchon, not the big chains. there's a spot called "seoul book bogo" in jongno that i mentioned, but also check "book park" in hongdae - they buy used textbooks on the spot if theyre clean and recent editions. you'll get maybe 5-7k won each, cash, no hassle

if you've got time before you leave, try the foreigner facebook groups first though. the "korean textbooks for sale" group on there is pretty active, and ehwa 4-6 goes for 15-20k each if you post with a photo showing the CDs and no writing inside. i sold my set in like 3 days that way, way better than what a shop would give you

yeah the facebook groups are the way to go for sure, those ehwa books are pretty sought after in the itaewon/hannam area facebook groups too. if u want a physical spot tho there's a little used bookstore in sinchon called "book club" near the main exit of sinchon station, they take textbooks but theyre super specific about condition and usually only offer store credit. i'd try the "seoul book bogo" cafe in jongno too, they host little swap events sometimes and might buy them if the staff happens to be looking for that series

honestly just try the Aladin used bookstores around Hongdae or Gangnam, they buy textbooks but you wont get much for them. last time i sold some like-new language books they offered like 30% of cover price max. if the Ehwa books have the CD still sealed you might get a bit more but don't expect much.

there's also a place called Kyobo Bookstore in Gwanghwamun but theyre more picky about what they take. your best bet might honestly be posting on a Facebook buy/sell group for foreigners in Seoul, like "Seoul Foreigners Stuff for Sale" or whatever. those Ehwa books sell pretty fast to new arrivals and you can prob get 10-15k won each instead of the 2-3k a used shop would give u.

Cash mostly, some take Cigna. Consult ~50,000 won.

tbh the 50k figure is on the low side for a derm, more like 70 to 90k once they do anything beyond talking. Also worth knowing: clinics here bill you upfront and hand you an itemized receipt, so you claim it back from your insurer yourself rather than them billing direct.

some bill direct if u have the card on u

Also bring your passport, they won't scan a foreign card without it.

Worth adding that even card-taking places often want won in hand for the first visit, so pull 100,000 from an ATM beforehand.

Mostly agree, but add the 10% VAT on top.

For a stubborn skin thing skip the big hospitals and look at a 피부과 in Apgujeong or Sinsa, most have one English speaking doc. Weekend slots fill up so call ahead. Bring your meds list, they'll ask.
