Good place to get a haircut and/or a scalp treatment in Myeong-dong or close?

I'd like to do both, but don't really know what to look for, because my Korean is not good enough to browse Korean rankings and I wouldn't want to go to a place that mainly caters to foreigners and ch… I'd like to do both, but don't really know what to look for, because my Korean is not good enough to browse Korean rankings and I wouldn't want to go to a place that mainly caters to foreigners and charges tourist prices :/

honestly for scalp treatments i'd skip the myeongdong tourist traps and walk over to hongdae instead, it's like 15 min on line 2. there's a place called soonsoo hair that does a solid scalp scaling + massage combo for around 40k won and they have a tablet with english descriptions. for a haircut in myeongdong itself, the basement level of young plaza near euljiro 1-ga station has a small unisex salon called mone that's dirt cheap and no one bothers upselling you, just point at the length you want

I'd check out Juno Hair, they have a few branches around Myeongdong and it's a chain so the prices are pretty standard. They have a scalp treatment menu with pictures you can point at, and the stylists are used to tourists without being a total ripoff.

for just a haircut without the tourist markup, try park seung-cheol hair studio near myeongdong station exit 6. it's a one-chair spot run by an older guy who's been cutting hair for decades, no english menu or anything but you can just show him a photo. scalp treatments are trickier in that area most places push the expensive packages. if u want both in one go, head to hwanggeum two hair a few blocks south of myeongdong cathedral they do a basic scalp scaling & cut combo for around 50k won total and they're used to non-korean speakers just pointing at the menu

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
