non-smoking clubs in seoul?

do you know any non-smoking clubs in seoul? do you know any non-smoking clubs in seoul?

most korean clubs that are more like "lounge bars" will be smoke-free since theyre indoors and small. try the basement at ff in hongdae, they enforce no smoking pretty strictly. also check out sullivan's in itaewon on a friday night, it's a cocktail bar with a dance floor and no smoke inside. just avoid the main clubbing streets in hongdae and gangnam where everyone smokes between sets.

yeah most places in hongdae are smokey but try the vinyl clubs like mmm records or supersonic, they're smaller and people actually follow the rules in there. also some of the underground spots in gangnam like face are non-smoking inside but the smoking areas are usually right outside the door so it kinda seeps in anyway

honestly, just search the sub. this gets asked every other week. try bar seoul in hongdae on a weeknight if you want to avoid smoke, most clubs are gonna be hazy unless it's a dedicated korean-style lounge.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
