Can I use contactless from a foreign country to pay for the Seoul subway?

I want to understand if I can pay for the Seoul subway with a foreign bank card either using: - the card itself - Apple Pay

All travel advice appreciated, thank you!

yeah you can, most foreign Visa/Mastercard tap-to-pay works directly on the turnstiles now. Apple Pay works too if your card is in the wallet, just hold your phone near the reader, no need to unlock sometimes. just make sure your card has the contactless symbol, and if it's a weird bank like some US credit unions, it might not work, so keep a T-money card as backup. you can buy those at any convenience store in the station, 4,000 won for the card itself, then load cash. honestly for a short trip, just use your phone, but T-money is safer if you're gonna be here more than a few days. also note the fare is distance-based, so if you transfer between lines, the system handles it automatically, no extra taps needed.

Just check your bank's foreign transaction fees first, those add up fast. Also, the station gates can be picky with some Amex cards, so Visa is the safer bet.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
