Best time to visit Mumbai City Zoo in 2026

fmd_goodCity Zoo · #mumbai #byculla
Planning a Sunday at the Byculla zoo with the kids, what time should we reach to beat the crowd? Also is the online ticket booking on the BMC site actually working now or do we just queue at the gate? Wednesdays are dead quiet, fwiw.

True, midweek mornings are bliss there, though the hippo enclosure gets mobbed once school groups show up around 11. If you can swing a Tuesday instead, even quieter. Just check the zoo isn't shut for maintenance, they do that randomly.

Image lidia local ·

midweek also means the Byculla bridge side gate opens with no line at all, which nobody seems to know

Image rohanj local ·

is that the gate off the sant gadge maharaj chowk side or the one past the fish market, never figured out which one ppl mean

Agreed, though school trips still swarm it after 10.

Reach by 8:30am Sunday, gates open 9, and book online a day ahead since the BMC portal works now but same day slots vanish fast.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah the portal works but it can be glitchy on weekends. book on a weekday nite instead, way less frustrating imo.

Book a day ahead but pick the earliest slot, 9am fills up first. Also carry cash for the toy train and the snack stalls near the penguin enclosure, the card machine there is unreliable.

Image marlis local ·

that cash tip is real, the toy train guy near the penguin bit flat out refused my UPI last month

8:30 works but the ticket counter line is separate from the pre-booked entry so show the QR on ur phone at the gate directly. ngl the food court inside is overpriced, pack water

Best cocktails at Brass & Oak in Mumbai 2026?

fmd_goodBrass & Oak · #cocktails
I'm visiting Mumbai next month and Brass & Oak keeps coming up. What's the vibe there and which cocktails are actually worth ordering in 2026? Also, do they take walk ins or should I book ahead? Book ahead Friday, Smoked Old Fashioned.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Agree on booking ahead, the place fills up fast after 8. The Kokum Margarita is the one I'd add, it's properly local and not too sweet. Ask for a table near the back if you want to actually talk.

yep reserving ahead is the move, they hold tables till 8:30 then it's first come chaos. ask for the mezzanine if you can, way less cramped than the bar side.

Thursday's quieter, same drink

asking for the corner booth when u reserve helps, way less foot traffic. and ask them to hold it past 9, fridays run late there

Image franka local ·

Their Smoked Old Fashioned is solid but the bar seats near the window pour better, so request one when you reserve.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Go early evening before the office crowd lands, and try the tamarind whiskey sour if it's still on the menu

tbh the negroni there is what locals actually order, and skip weekends unless u enjoy shouting over the music.
