After lunch, head to the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities (opens 9:00 AM, closed Mondays, admission 30 CNY). It's a 10-minute taxi ride from Chaoyang Square (about 15 CNY). Later, visit the Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area (entry 20 CNY), a 20-minute bus ride from the museum. The mountain offers panoramic views and ancient temples.

🍜 Day 1 Evening: Local Food Street
For dinner, head to Zhongshan Road Food Street, a 10-minute walk from Qingxiu Mountain's east gate. This bustling night market opens around 6:00 PM and serves local specialties like Luosifen (snail noodles) and grilled oysters. Expect to spend 30-50 CNY per person.

🌳 Day 2: Nanhu Park & Art District
Begin day two at Nanhu Park, a large lake park with walking trails and a musical fountain show at 8:00 PM. The park is free and opens at 6:00 AM. From there, take a 15-minute taxi (20 CNY) to the 789 Art District, a creative hub with galleries and cafes.

Spend your afternoon at the Mixc Shopping Mall (accessible by metro Line 1, exit B), which features international brands and a food court. For a quieter break, visit the Guangxi Tea Culture Museum nearby (free entry, open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM). Try a cup of local Liubao tea.

πŸŒ‰ Day 2 Evening: Riverside Walk
In the evening, stroll along the Yongjiang River at the Minzu Avenue section, where the city lights reflect on the water. The pedestrian bridge near the Nanning International Convention Center offers great photo spots. Dinner at a riverside restaurant like The River House (average 80 CNY per person).

🏞️ Day 3: Suburban Nature Escape
On your last day, take a 40-minute bus (Line 5) to the Guangxi Medicinal Botanical Garden (entry 10 CNY, open 8:00 AM-6:00 PM). This sprawling garden features thousands of plant species. 🚌 Getting Around & Tips
Nanning's metro system (Lines 1-5) covers most attractions, with fares from 2-6 CNY. Taxis start at 8 CNY. For day trips, consider a Didi ride or public bus. Most attractions accept Alipay or WeChat Pay, but carry some cash for street vendors. Avoid peak hours (8:00-9:00 AM and 5:00-7:00 PM) for smoother travel.

solid itinerary honestly, i lived in nanning for two years and this covers the highlights pretty well. one thing i d add is the morning wet market scene - there s a huge one near Chaoyang called the Tangshan Market that opens around 7am, it s chaotic but you can get fresh rice rolls (changfen) for like 5 yuan and watch people haggle for live fish and weird herbs. way more local than zhongshan road imo

also for day 2 the 789 art district is cool but it s small, you can see everything in like an hour. if you re into photography the old railway tracks behind it are abandoned and make for good shots, just watch your step the weeds are tall

one practical thing - bring a reusable water bottle, nanning tap water is safe to drink but tastes like chlorine, most hotels and malls have free water dispensers. saves u buying plastic bottles every day

honestly this is a solid itinerary, only thing id tweak is day 3 - the botanical garden is nice but if you re up for it, go to Yangmei Ancient Town first then hit the garden on the way back. Yangmei is quiet and feels more authentic than some of the rebuilt ancient towns, plus the street food there is dirt cheap, like 2 yuan for a bowl of tofu pudding. also for day 1, skip the bus to Qingxiu Mountain and just take a Didi for like 12 yuan, the bus can be packed and slow

this is a really thoughtful itinerary, you ve clearly spent time on it. one thing i d suggest is swapping the day 1 museum for the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities in the afternoon with the Guangxi Provincial Museum instead if you re into artifacts - it s smaller but has a great collection of bronze drums and ancient pottery, and it s free. it s right next to Nanhu Park too so you could combine it with day 2 morning, just check it s open because they sometimes close for exhibitions. also for day 2 evening, the riverside restaurants near Minzu Avenue can be pricey and touristy; i d walk a bit further east to the food stalls under the Binyang Bridge where you can get grilled fish and beer for under 50 yuan total, it s where locals go

honestly if you want good food and easy transit, Chaoyang is your best bet. it's the old city center so there's tons of street food around Minzu Avenue and the pedestrian streets, plus the metro runs right through it. you can get to Nanning East station in like 20 mins if you need to head out.

the area around the Yongjiang river is nice for evening walks too, and there's a bunch of small noodle shops that do killer luosifen for like 12 yuan a bowl. just avoid anything too close to the train station itself, it gets a bit sketchy at night.

Langxiang area near the Guangxi University stop on Line 1 is worth a look. It's a student neighborhood so the food is cheap and varied, lots of small stalls doing spicy skewers and rice noodles for under 10 yuan. The metro gets you downtown in about 15 minutes but you're also close to the Nanning Zoo if you want a low-key day out. It's not fancy, but for two weeks you'll eat well and save a bit.

chaoyang is solid but if you want something a bit more chill with still great food, check out the area around Qingxiu Mountain. it's a bit greener and quieter, lots of small restaurants tucked into the side streets near the east gate. the metro line 1 runs along that side too so you're still connected, just a few extra stops to the center.

there's a night market on Jinhu Road that's less touristy than the ones downtown, good grilled fish and those little stuffed pancakes. rent a bike and explore the lake paths around the mountain, it's a nice way to kill an afternoon
