Also if you're at the Wenhua Street night market, stall No. 3 does a fantastic liangfen that the guide didn't mention. Good list, I've eaten at most of these places. For the hotpot, I actually prefer Chongqing Hotpot City late at night because the service is faster and they have a better beer selection than the smaller spots. One thing the guide missed is the xiaolongbao at a cart on Shunqing Road near the hospital, they're open from 7 to 10 AM and do pork soup dumplings for 8 RMB for 6 pieces, the guy makes the wrappers by hand right there. Also at Home-Style Kitchen, if you go at lunch they do a 22 RMB set with the steamed pork belly plus a vegetable and rice, it's a better deal than ordering a la carte.
oh nice writeup, i'd add that the tea house on guihua lane does this incredible fermented tofu snack if you ask for it, not on the menu but the old lady will bring it out for like 5 kuai. also for sweet treats the bakery on east street is good but there's a tiny cart by the south gate of nanchong normal university around 4pm that does these fried glutinous rice balls with black sesame filling, 6 for 5 kuai, way better than the bakery ones tbh
