one thing the guide glosses over is the local snack scene near the department store, there's a lady who sells fried tofu skin rolls from a cart on nanking road around 4pm for 6 yuan a pop. way better than the dried stuff in bags and she's been there for years

nice guide, covers the basics well. one thing i'd add is the night market on anshan street, it's a few blocks from the train station and opens around 6pm. the grilled cold noodles there are 8 yuan and way better than the ones you'll find during the day, they crisp up on the griddle differently. also if you're doing the museum, the free exhibition hall upstairs changes every month and sometimes has really good local artists, not just the permanent stuff downstairs
