solid write-up, especially the tide tip for bijia mountain - that's the kind of thing you don't think about until you're stuck on the wrong side of the water. one thing i'd add is that the coastal hiking trail at bijiashan scenic area is actually better in late afternoon light around 3-4 PM, the sea stacks glow orange against the water and it's way less crowded than morning. also if you're taking bus route 1 to yiwu mountain, get off one stop early at the small temple on the hillside, it's free and has a great view of the main site without the 60 yuan fee, just a short walk up the path
nice guide, the bus info is super helpful. for fengguo temple, if you have time after the main hall, walk around the back to the smaller pagoda garden - most people miss it and it's got these really old stelae with liao dynasty inscriptions that are still legible. also the bus from jinzhou west station to yixian is about 25 yuan and runs every 40 minutes, but the last one back leaves at 4:30 PM so don't linger too long over those noodles

For anyone heading to Fengguo Temple, the bus from Jinzhou West Station drops you at Yixian's main square, not right at the temple. The taxi ride from there is about 15 CNY and takes five minutes. Also worth grabbing a bowl of noodles at Lao Wang's near the temple entrance, they do a good lamb soup version for 18 CNY that beats the tourist restaurants.

one thing id add: if ur actually going for the beaches in Binhai, check which part. the developed strip near the port has the resorts & seafood, but a lot of the coastline further out is industrial & not swimmable, so dont just book "Binhai" blind and assume sand
for food, the bbq skewer places around the Liaoshen campaign memorial area are worth the trip, cheap & open late. & if u want somewhere quiet, the university area in Linghe empties out over summer break so prices drop & u get the whole street to urself

this is a solid breakdown but one thing missing: the high speed rail station is actually Jinzhou South (Jinzhou Nan), not the old central station. if ur coming from Beijing or Shenyang on the HSR thats where u arrive & its out in the new area so the "central business district walk to railway station" bit only applies to the slow trains
tbh for most people id skip cbd & stay near Guta. rooms around the old city run 100 to 150 rmb and ur walking distance to the night market on Renmin Jie & actual food streets, the cbd is kinda dead after 9pm
also buses drop to 1 yuan flat, its not 1 to 2, and u can pay with the Alipay transport QR so no need for cash
The district breakdown is genuinely useful, I hadn't seen Binhai and Guta priced side by side before.
One angle that hasn't come up: for anyone staying more than a few nights, the area around the old Jinzhou Railway Station (the slow-train one, not the South HSR station) is underrated. There's a cluster of older business hotels on the streets just west of the station square, and because the station lost most of its traffic to the HSR, they've dropped prices hard. I paid 130 for a decent twin with functioning heating in early March, walkable to the bus hub and about 15 minutes on foot to Guta's edge.
Also worth knowing: Jinzhou has a couple of decent hot spring resorts out toward the Linghai side, roughly 40 minutes by car. Not in any district you listed, but if someone wants a two-night reset rather than a city base, that's the move. Day-trippers from Shenyang often do this and skip the city entirely.
