🍽️ Traditional Barbecue Spots
Londrina's churrasco tradition shines at Churrascaria do Gaúcho, located at Rua Senador Souza Naves, 877 in the Centro. Expect all-you-can-eat rodízio for around R$ 70 per person, with service from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Another favorite is Costelão do Gaúcho at Avenida Higienópolis, 1200, where the slow-roasted beef ribs are a must-try for about R$ 55 per plate. For a more casual option, try Espeto Corrido na Brasa on Avenida Leste-Oeste, near the Gleba Palhano, with skewers from R$ 8 each.

🍣 Japanese Cuisine
Londrina has a strong Japanese community, and the food reflects it. Sushi Yassu at Rua Belo Horizonte, 650 in the Centro offers fresh sashimi and temaki combos starting at R$ 45, open Tuesday to Sunday from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. For a more affordable option, Temakeria do Shopping Catuaí at Rodovia Celso Garcia Cid, 3000, has temaki rolls from R$ 18 and is open during mall hours (10:00 AM to 10:00 PM). Don't miss the feijoada sushi fusion at Yamato on Avenida Ayrton Senna, 800, a unique local twist.

🌮 Street Food and Snacks
The night market at Praça Tomi Nakagawa in the Gleba Palhano is a street food haven, especially on weekends from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Try the pastel de carne from Bar do Pastel for R$ 10, or the espetinho de queijo from the many grills for R$ 8. For a quick bite, head to the food trucks on Avenida Madre Leônia Milito, near the Universidade Estadual de Londrina, where you'll find hot dogs and crepes from R$ 12. The central market, Mercado Municipal de Londrina at Rua Uruguai, 75, also has stalls selling salgados and caldo de cana from early morning.

🍝 Italian and Pasta
For Italian food, Cantina do Piero at Rua Santos Dumont, 1200 in the Centro serves homemade pasta and risottos from R$ 40, open for lunch and dinner. Another gem is Trattoria La Villa at Avenida Higienópolis, 1500, where the gnocchi on Thursdays is a local tradition, priced around R$ 50. If you're craving pizza, Forno di Pietra on Rua Goiás, 800 offers wood-fired pizzas from R$ 35, with a cozy atmosphere and open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

🍰 Cafes and Desserts
Londrina's cafe scene is growing, with Cafe do Lago at Rua Senador Souza Naves, 500 near Lago Igapó being a top spot for coffee and cake. A cappuccino and slice of carrot cake will cost about R$ 20, and it's open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. For a sweet treat, Gelateria Italiana at Shopping Boulevard (Avenida Theodoro Victorelli, 200) serves authentic gelato from R$ 12 per scoop. Don't miss the pastel de nata at Padaria Portuguesa on Avenida Rio de Janeiro, 300, open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

🍺 Bars and Botecos
Boteco do Mané at Rua Piauí, 1500 in the Centro is a classic spot for petiscos and cold beer, with portions from R$ 25 and open until 1:00 AM. For a more modern vibe, Bar do Lago at Avenida Higienópolis, 2000 offers craft beers and appetizers like bolinho de bacalhau for R$ 30, with a view of Lago Igapó. Another favorite is Bar do Zé on Avenida Leste-Oeste, 3000, known for its feijoada on Saturdays and live samba music, starting at 6:00 PM.

🥗 Vegetarian and Healthy
Vegetarian options are plentiful in Londrina. Restaurante Natural Vida Leve at Rua Mato Grosso, 500 in the Centro offers a daily buffet of organic dishes for R$ 35 per person, open from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For vegan fare, Semente do Bem on Avenida Ayrton Senna, 1500 serves plant-based burgers and bowls from R$ 25, open until 10:00 PM. The feira orgânica at Praça Tomi Nakagawa on Saturday mornings is perfect for fresh fruits and local produce.

💰 Budget Tips
To eat well on a budget in Londrina, look for the prato feito (plate of the day) at restaurants like Restaurante Popular at Rua Minas Gerais, 200, where a full meal costs just R$ 15. The university area around UEL has cheap eats, including pastel and caldo de cana for under R$ 10. For groceries, the Mercado Municipal offers fresh produce and local cheeses at lower prices than supermarkets. Many restaurants also offer happy hour specials from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with discounted petiscos.

Nice rundown, though a couple of those spots have moved or changed hours since last year, so worth double checking before you go. The one I'd push back on is the Japanese section: Sushi Yassu is fine but the real move in Londrina is the Saturday feira da Praça Argentina in the morning, where the nipo vendors sell fresh sashimi and temaki for half of restaurant prices, and you eat standing up with a cold caldo de cana. If you want a sit-down spot, Yamato is good but the rodízio at Nippon on Avenida Higienópolis is the one locals actually book for birthdays. For the barbecue, I'd add that most churrascarias here charge extra for couvert and service, so that R$ 70 is closer to R$ 90 by the time you're done.

Solid writeup, saving this for when friends visit. One thing I'd add is the almoço at the Mercado Municipal itself, not just the salgados stalls. There are a couple of tiny counters upstairs where the workers eat, feijoada or bife acebolado with rice and farofa for like R$ 20, and it's way better than the tourist-facing stuff downstairs. Also Cafe do Lago is nice but I prefer the coffee at Empório Santa Mônica near Zerão, quieter and the pão de queijo is fresh out of the oven around 4pm.

good list overall but a few of those addresses are off. Churrascaria do Gaúcho is solid but honestly I'd take Costelão over it any day, the rib there is worth the mess. One thing the guide missed is the lunch kilo spots, like the ones around Rua Goiás and Avenida Duque de Caxias where u pay by weight and eat well for R$ 25 or so. Also the feira do Zerão on Sunday mornings has better pastel than most fixed places, get there before 10 or teh line is brutal.

🗺️ Getting Around Londrina
Londrina's central grid is compact and walkable, but you'll need buses or ride-hailing apps for outlying areas. A single bus fare costs R$5.50 (as of 2026) and you can pay with a Transporte Coletivo card or cash. Uber and 99 are widely available, with a 10-minute ride in the center costing around R$12-18. Traffic is heaviest between 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM, so plan accordingly.

Start at Praça Tomi Nakagawa (Centro Cívico) around 8 AM for a coffee and pão na chapa at Café do Lago (Av. Higienópolis, 1000). Then walk 10 minutes to the Londrina Historical Museum (Rua Benjamin Constant, 900) which opens at 9 AM; entry is free. Spend an hour exploring the city's coffee heritage before heading to the Metropolitan Cathedral (Praça da Matriz) by 10:30 AM.

After lunch at Mercado Municipal (Rua Rio de Janeiro, 400), take a 15-minute Uber to Igapó Lake (Av. Higienópolis, s/n). Buses 301 or 302 return to the center in 20 minutes.

Head to the Gleba Palhano neighborhood for dinner. Try the renowned churrasco at Bar do Alemão (Av. Ayrton Senna, 1000) or sushi at Nori (Rua Pedro Muffato, 200). After 9 PM, the bars along Av. Ayrton Senna come alive; a chopp (draft beer) costs about R$8-12. A taxi back to the center takes 15 minutes and costs roughly R$25.

🏛️ Day 2 Morning: Cultural Immersion
Begin at the Londrina Art Museum (Rua Sergipe, 640) at 9 AM; admission is free. Then walk 5 minutes to the Planetarium (Rua Benjamin Constant, 800) for a 10 AM show (R$10). By 11:30 AM, explore the nearby Cine Teatro Ouro Verde (Rua Maranhão, 85), a historic venue with guided tours on weekdays.

🛍️ Day 2 Afternoon: Shopping and Markets
After a quick lunch at the Mercado Municipal (Rua Rio de Janeiro, 400), browse the shops at Catuaí Shopping (Av. Ayrton Senna, 1000) from 1-3 PM. Then take a 10-minute bus (line 305) to the Feira do Produtor (Av. Duque de Caxias, 1500) on Saturdays for local crafts and snacks. Return to the center by 5 PM to rest.

🎶 Day 2 Evening: Live Music
Londrina has a vibrant music scene. At 8 PM, catch a live MPB or rock show at Bar Valentino (Rua Belo Horizonte, 500) or the historic Cine Teatro Ouro Verde (Rua Maranhão, 85). Cover charges range from R$15-30. For a quieter night, enjoy a glass of wine at Empório do Vinho (Rua Goiás, 600).

Take a 7 AM bus from Terminal Rodoviário (Av. Leste-Oeste, 100) to Tamarana (1 hour, R$12). Visit the Cachoeira do Apucaraninha waterfall and hike the trails; entry is R$20. Return to Londrina by 4 PM. Alternatively, stay local and explore the coffee farms in the rural area via a guided tour (R$80, book ahead).

🌙 Day 3 Evening: Farewell Dinner
For your last night, dine at the upscale Vila do Porto (Rua Senador Souza Naves, 1000) for seafood, or go casual at the popular Pastelaria do Zé (Av. heads up on Day 1 evening, Gleba Palhano is great but those Av. Ayrton Senna bar prices spike hard on weekends, a chopp that's R$8 on a tuesday can run you R$15 on a friday. if you want the same vibe cheaper, the botecos around Rua Piauí in the center do happy hour till like 8 and the pastel de carne there is honestly better than most of the fancy spots.

also the guide's right about Café do Lago but get there before 8:30, after that

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

solid guide, covers the main stuff well. one thing i'd add for Day 1, skip the Uber to Igapó and just walk in from Av. Higienópolis if you're already near the center, it's flat and shaded most of the way. and the kiosks around the lake do a decent água de coco for like R$6, way better than paying R$12 at the mall spots later.

also fwiw the Feira do Produtor on Av. Duque de Caxias is Saturdays only, so if your Day 2 lands on a weekday don't bother, it'll just be empty. the one at Praça do Zerão on Sunday mornings is smaller but runs every week if you want a backup.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Nice write-up, the Day 2 music bit is spot on. One thing worth flagging for the Tamarana day trip: the bus from Terminal Rodoviário is fine but the last return leaves earlier than people expect on weekends, I want to say around 3 PM, so check the schedule at the guichê when you arrive or you'll be scrambling. Also the Cachoeira do Apucaraninha trail gets slick after rain, bring shoes with grip, flip flops won't cut it. If you'd rather skip the logistics, the coffee farm tours out toward Warta are genuinely good and most include a proper colonial breakfast.
