🌳 Explore the City's Green Heart
Start your visit at the Jardim Botânico de Londrina, open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM with free admission. The 100-hectare park features native Atlantic Forest, a lake, and a sensory garden, plus a small museum. For a quick nature fix, the Parque Municipal Arthur Thomas offers trails and a waterfall just 10 minutes from downtown. Both are popular with locals for morning jogs and birdwatching.

🏛️ Discover Local History and Art
The Museu Histórico de Londrina, housed in a restored 1930s railway station, tells the story of the city's coffee boom. Entry costs R$10 for adults, and it's free on Sundays. Nearby, the Museu de Arte de Londrina (MAL) showcases contemporary Brazilian artists in a modern building on Rua Sergipe. Check their schedule for temporary exhibitions and workshops.

☕ Savor the Coffee Culture
Londrina was built on coffee, and you can still taste it at specialty roasters like Café do Mercado in the Mercado Municipal. A pour-over costs around R$12, and the beans are roasted in-house. For a deeper dive, visit the Museu do Café in the nearby city of Cambé, about 20 minutes by car. Many cafes also offer cupping sessions on weekends.

🍽️ Taste the Local Flavors
Don't miss the chance to try a 'pastel de feira' at the Feira do Zerão, held on Sundays from 7 AM to 1 PM. The Mercado Municipal is another foodie hub, with stalls selling everything from fresh produce to artisanal cheese. For a sit-down meal, head to the Gastronomic Center on Avenida Higienópolis, where you'll find everything from Japanese to Italian. Prices range from R$20 for a snack to R$80 for a full dinner.

🎭 Catch a Show or Festival
The Teatro Ouro Verde, a historic venue on Rua Maranhão, hosts everything from theater to symphony orchestras. Tickets typically cost between R$20 and R$60. In July, the Festival de Música de Londrina draws artists from across Brazil. Check the city's cultural calendar for free events at the Concha Acústica in Parque do Zerão.

🚴 Get Active Outdoors
Rent a bike from one of the stations around Lago Igapó and cycle the 7-kilometer path that circles the lake. The ride takes about 45 minutes at a leisurely pace. For a more challenging hike, the Parque Estadual Mata dos Godoy, 20 kilometers south of the city, offers trails through one of the last remnants of the Atlantic Forest in the region. Bring water and sunscreen.

🛍️ Shop Like a Local
The Mercado Municipal is the best spot for souvenirs like coffee beans, cachaça, and handicrafts. It's open Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 6 PM. For fashion and electronics, head to the Shopping Catuaí, the city's largest mall, with over 300 stores. On weekends, the Feira de Artesanato on Avenida Saul Elkind is great for unique gifts.

🌙 Enjoy Evening Entertainment
As the sun sets, the bars along Avenida Higienópolis come alive with live music and happy hour specials. A chopp (draft beer) costs around R$8, and many places offer petiscos (bar snacks) starting at R$15. For a more sophisticated night, the Cine Teatro Ouro Verde screens independent films and hosts concerts. Just remember that many venues close on Mondays.

Good writeup, though I'd nudge anyone planning the Jardim Botânico to go on a weekday morning. Weekends get busy with school groups and the parking off Avenida dos Expedicionários fills up fast, I usually park a block down on Rua Pernambuco and walk in. Also the sensory garden is the highlight for me, not the lake, since it's quieter and has labeled native plants if you're into that.

One thing missing: the Cemitério de Londrina, oddly enough. It's the old one near the center and it's genuinely worth an hour if you like history, since a lot of the coffee barons are buried there and the tombs tell the city's story better than the museum does. Free to walk in during daylight hours.

For the Feira do Zerão, get there before 9 if you want the pastel without a long line. After 10 it's chaos.

honestly the guide missed the best coffee spot imo. instead of the Mercado Municipal ones, try the little roaster on Rua Belo Horizonte near the UEL campus, they do a mean coado and the owner will talk your ear off about fermentation if you let him. also fwiw the Lago Igapó bike path gets packed on Sunday afternoons so go before 9am if u actually wanna ride.

one tip on the Museu Histórico, its closed on Mondays like most things here, learned that teh hard way on my first trip back. and if you're around in April, the ExpoLondrina at the Parque de Exposições is way bigger than any festival they listed, huge agricultural fair with rodeo and food stalls

the guide is solid but the timing on Teatro Ouro Verde is off for 2026. theyre doing renovations on the main hall so most shows moved to the Concha Acústica or the smaller space at the Vila Cultural, worth checking before you buy tickets online cause the site still lists the old schedule. tickets ended up being cheaper too, paid R$30 for a jazz night in Feb.

on food, skip the Gastronomic Center if you want the real stuff and hit the Feira do Zerão for more than pastel. the pastel de palmito stall near the entrance is the move and a caldo de cana is like R$8. sunday only tho.

one thing nobody mentions: the Rodoviária area has a feira de troca de livros on the first saturday of the month, mostly used paperbacks in Portuguese but great if you read.

Ayrton Senna come alive; a chopp (draft beer) costs about R$8-12. A taxi back to the center takes 15 minutes and costs roughly R$25.

🏛️ Day 2 Morning: Cultural Immersion
Begin at the Londrina Art Museum (Rua Sergipe, 640) at 9 AM; admission is free. Then walk 5 minutes to the Planetarium (Rua Benjamin Constant, 800) for a 10 AM show (R$10). By 11:30 AM, explore the nearby Cine Teatro Ouro Verde (Rua Maranhão, 85), a historic venue with guided tours on weekdays.

🎶 Day 2 Evening: Live Music
Londrina has a vibrant music scene. At 8 PM, catch a live MPB or rock show at Bar Valentino (Rua Belo Horizonte, 500) or the historic Cine Teatro Ouro Verde (Rua Maranhão, 85). Cover charges range from R$15-30. For a quieter night, enjoy a glass of wine at Empório do Vinho (Rua Goiás, 600).

Take a 7 AM bus from Terminal Rodoviário (Av. Leste-Oeste, 100) to Tamarana (1 hour, R$12). Visit the Cachoeira do Apucaraninha waterfall and hike the trails; entry is R$20. Return to Londrina by 4 PM. Alternatively, stay local and explore the coffee farms in the rural area via a guided tour (R$80, book ahead).

🌙 Day 3 Evening: Farewell Dinner
For your last night, dine at the upscale Vila do Porto (Rua Senador Souza Naves, 1000) for seafood, or go casual at the popular Pastelaria do Zé (Av. heads up on Day 1 evening, Gleba Palhano is great but those Av. Ayrton Senna bar prices spike hard on weekends, a chopp that's R$8 on a tuesday can run you R$15 on a friday. if you want the same vibe cheaper, the botecos around Rua Piauí in the center do happy hour till like 8 and the pastel de carne there is honestly better than most of the fancy spots.

also the guide's right about Café do Lago but get there before 8:30, after that

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

solid guide, covers the main stuff well. one thing i'd add for Day 1, skip the Uber to Igapó and just walk in from Av. Higienópolis if you're already near the center, it's flat and shaded most of the way. and the kiosks around the lake do a decent água de coco for like R$6, way better than paying R$12 at the mall spots later.

also fwiw the Feira do Produtor on Av. Duque de Caxias is Saturdays only, so if your Day 2 lands on a weekday don't bother, it'll just be empty. the one at Praça do Zerão on Sunday mornings is smaller but runs every week if you want a backup.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Nice write-up, the Day 2 music bit is spot on. One thing worth flagging for the Tamarana day trip: the bus from Terminal Rodoviário is fine but the last return leaves earlier than people expect on weekends, I want to say around 3 PM, so check the schedule at the guichê when you arrive or you'll be scrambling. Also the Cachoeira do Apucaraninha trail gets slick after rain, bring shoes with grip, flip flops won't cut it. If you'd rather skip the logistics, the coffee farm tours out toward Warta are genuinely good and most include a proper colonial breakfast.
