**🍛 Where to Start** Begin your food journey at the iconic Aligarh Chicken Corner on University Road, known for its spicy chicken curry and tandoori roti. A full meal for two costs around INR 400-600, and it's open from 11 AM to 11 PM daily. **🥟 Street Food Hotspots** Head to the bustling Sarai Mian Market for Aligarh's famous chaat and samosas. The stall near the main gate serves crispy samosas with tangy tamarind chutney for just INR 20 per plate. Visit between 4 PM and 8 PM for the freshest batches. **🍨 Sweet Treats** Don't miss the creamy kulfi at Kulfi Wala near Gandhi Park, a local favorite since the 1980s. A single serving costs INR 30, and they offer flavors like pistachio and mango. It's best enjoyed in the evening when the park is lively. **🍜 Must-Try Dishes** Aligarh is famous for its biryani, especially the version at Aligarh Biryani House on Railway Road. Their mutton biryani, priced at INR 180 per plate, is aromatic and generously spiced. Pair it with their raita for a complete meal. **🥘 Local Favorites** For a taste of home-style cooking, visit Bhojnalaya on Ramghat Road, which serves thalis with dal, sabzi, roti, and rice for INR 150. The place is packed during lunch hours (12 PM to 3 PM), so arrive early to avoid the rush. **🌃 Best Evening Spots** As night falls, the food stalls near Aligarh Fort come alive with kebabs and rolls. The seekh kebab at Babu's Kebab Corner, priced at INR 60 for a plate of six, is a must-try. The area is well-lit and safe for evening strolls. **💰 Budget Tips** Most street food items cost between INR 20 and INR 100, making Aligarh a budget-friendly destination. Carry cash, as many stalls don't accept cards. For a filling meal under INR 200, stick to the chaat and kebab stalls in the old city. **🚗 Getting Around** Auto-rickshaws are the easiest way to hop between food spots, with fares starting at INR 30 for short rides. For a more local experience, rent a cycle from shops near the railway station for INR 50 per day. Most food areas are within a 5 km radius of the city center.
