**🗺️ Where to Start** Begin your trip at the Lianyuan Railway Station, which connects to major cities like Changsha and Guangzhou. From there, take a taxi (about 15 minutes, 20-30 CNY) to the city center near Renmin Road, where most hotels and attractions are clustered. **🌅 Day 1 Morning: City Center** Start with a stroll through Lianyuan People's Square, a lively open space with fountains and local vendors. Then visit the nearby Lianyuan Museum (9 AM - 5 PM, free entry) to learn about the region's coal mining history and Hakka culture. **🍜 Day 1 Lunch: Local Eats** Head to Xiangxiang Road Food Street for authentic Hunan cuisine. Try the spicy stinky tofu at Lao Ma Tou Fu (about 10-15 CNY per serving) or the braised pork ribs at Xiang Wei Lou (around 40-60 CNY per dish). Arrive before 12:30 PM to avoid the lunch rush. **🏞️ Day 1 Afternoon: Meijiang River** Take a 10-minute taxi (15 CNY) to the Meijiang River Scenic Area, a peaceful riverside park with walking paths and boat rentals. Rent a pedal boat (30 CNY per hour) and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. The park closes at 6 PM. **🌙 Day 1 Evening: Night Market** Return to the city center and explore the Lianyuan Night Market on Jiefang Road, open from 6 PM to midnight. Sample grilled skewers (2-5 CNY each) and bubble tea (8-12 CNY). Don't miss the sugar-coated hawthorn sticks, a local favorite. **⛰️ Day 2 Morning: Longshan Mountain** Take a bus from Lianyuan Bus Station (Line 101, 8 CNY, 40 minutes) to Longshan National Forest Park. Hike the main trail to the summit (about 2 hours) for panoramic views of the Hunan countryside. The park opens at 7 AM and entry is 50 CNY. **🍚 Day 2 Lunch: Mountain Eats** At the base of Longshan, visit Nong Jia Le Farmhouse Restaurant for a hearty meal of bamboo shoot stir-fry and farm chicken (around 30-50 CNY per person). The restaurant is open from 11 AM to 2 PM, so plan accordingly. **🛶 Day 2 Afternoon: Zishui River** From Longshan, take a 20-minute taxi (30 CNY) to the Zishui River Rafting Spot. Enjoy a 1.5-hour bamboo raft ride (80 CNY per person) through scenic gorges. The last raft departs at 4 PM, so arrive by 2 PM. **🏛️ Day 3 Morning: Cultural Sites** Visit the Lianyuan Confucian Temple on Wenhua Road (8 AM - 5 PM, free), a well-preserved Ming dynasty structure. Then walk 10 minutes to the Hakka Roundhouse Museum (10 CNY entry) to see traditional tulou-style architecture. **🛍️ Day 3 Afternoon: Shopping** Spend your last afternoon at Lianyuan Commercial Street, a pedestrian zone with shops selling local tea, dried chili peppers, and hand-embroidered textiles. Bargaining is expected, so start at 50% of the asking price. Most shops close by 8 PM.
