**🗺️ Where to Start** Base yourself near the Yalu River for easy access to the main sights. The Dandong Yalu River Bridge area is the historic and scenic heart of the city. Most hotels here are within walking distance of the Broken Bridge and the riverfront promenade. **🌉 Day 1: Riverfront Sights** Start your morning at the Yalu River Broken Bridge (address: Yalu River Scenic Area, Zhenxing District; open 8:00-17:00, entry 30 CNY). Walk across the bridge for views of North Korea and visit the nearby Yalu River Park. In the afternoon, head to the Dandong Yalu River Bridge (the functional bridge) to see trains crossing into Sinuiju. End the day with a stroll along the riverfront promenade, where locals gather for evening performances. **🏛️ Day 2: History and Culture** Spend the morning at the Dandong Korean War Museum (address: 68 Shanshang Street, Zhenxing District; open 9:00-16:30, free with ID). The museum offers a detailed look at the Korean War from the Chinese perspective. After lunch, take a taxi (about 20 minutes, 25 CNY) to the Hushan Great Wall (address: Hushan Town, Kuandian County; open 8:00-17:00, entry 60 CNY). This section of the Ming Great Wall offers panoramic views of the Yalu River and North Korea. Return to the city for dinner at a local Korean barbecue restaurant near the river. **🌲 Day 3: Nature and Relaxation** Take a morning trip to the Fenghuang Mountain (address: Fenghuangshan Scenic Area, Fengcheng City; about 1 hour by bus from Dandong, entry 80 CNY). The mountain offers hiking trails and cable car rides with stunning views. Return to Dandong by early afternoon and visit the Jinjiangshan Park (address: Zhenxing District; free entry) for a relaxing walk among pagodas and gardens. End your trip with a river cruise (departs from the Yalu River Pier, 50 CNY per person, 40 minutes) to see the North Korean shoreline up close. **🚌 Getting Around** Dandong is compact, so walking and taxis are the best options for the city center. Taxis start at 8 CNY and are easy to hail; a ride across town rarely exceeds 30 CNY. For day trips like Hushan Great Wall or Fenghuang Mountain, take local buses from the Dandong Bus Station (address: 1 Shanshang Street) or hire a taxi for the day (around 300-400 CNY). Avoid rush hour (8:00-9:00 and 17:00-18:00) when traffic on the main roads can be heavy. **🍜 Where to Eat** For authentic Korean cuisine, head to the Korean Street area near the Yalu River, where you'll find restaurants like Dandong Korean Restaurant (address: 12 Binjiang Road). Try the cold noodles (naengmyeon) and grilled beef ribs. For Chinese dishes, visit the night market on Xinliu Street (open 17:00-23:00) for street food like grilled skewers and fried dumplings. Budget around 50-100 CNY per meal for a filling dinner. **💡 Local Tips** Bring your passport for the Korean War Museum and any border-related attractions, as ID checks are common. The best time to visit is spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October) for mild weather. Avoid taking photos of military installations or bridges from restricted angles, as security is strict near the border. Most shops and attractions accept WeChat Pay or Alipay, but carry some cash for small vendors.
