Arsgan House Mystery?

Question

So I'm heading to this Arsgan House chalet near Playa del Carmen next month. Pictures online make it look amazing, total jungle vibes. My question is... anyone ever seen those crazy spider monkeys around there? I'm a bit terrified of monkeys, honestly. Heard stories about them being super bold near the coast. Hope it's just tourist hype, otherwise, I'll be sleeping with the lights on!

honestly the spider monkeys are the least of your worries out there. what gets people is the sargassum smell in the air some mornings, depending on the season, and the fact that Arsgan House is pretty far down a bumpy dirt road off the 307, so rent something with clearance or you'll be scraping the undercarriage. monkeys stay up in the canopy mostly, you hear them crashing around before you ever see one. if you're really spooked just keep the screen doors latched, they're curious but not gonna break in.

tbh the spider monkeys mostly hang around the ruins and deeper jungle, not so much right at the chalets. i've stayed near there and never had one come close. just dont leave fruit or snacks out on teh balcony and you'll be fine.

The monkeys aren't the issue, the mosquitoes at dusk are. Bring repellent and you'll forget all about the wildlife.
