solid post, covers the big ones. for rio secreto, i'd say it's worth the hype but go for the earliest tour if you can. i did the 9 am slot and our group was only like 8 people, felt way more intimate than the afternoon crowds i saw leaving. the stalactites are insane, some are over 10,000 years old and the guides know their stuff about the formations.
also, if you're into food, the taco stand on the way back from chichen itza called el chino is a must. it's right off the highway near piste, like 10 minutes from the ruins. al pastor tacos are 15 pesos each and they roast the pineapple right there. way better than the overpriced buffet lunches the tours push on you.
one thing nobody mentions is the sargassum season for isla mujeres. from may to october the east side beaches can get piled with seaweed. but the west side near the town center is usually clear, so rent a golf cart and head straight for playa norte instead. it's calmer water anyway for swimming.

the guide is solid, i'd just add that for isla mujeres, skip the golf cart if ur just going for the day and rent a scooter instead - it's like 30 bucks and way easier to park near the beaches. also, the ferry from puerto juarez is cheaper than the hotel zone one, about 15 round trip, and the line moves faster in the morning.
for chichen itza, the ado bus drops u right at the entrance around 9 am, which is perfect timing. but bring a hat and water, that heat hits different than the beach. the cenote ik kil is worth it but gets packed by noon, so go straight there after the ruins if u can.
one thing missing is bacalar, it's about 4 hours south but the lagoon of seven colors is unreal. take an early ado bus and u can be back by evening. the water is so clear u can see the bottom at 30 feet deep, and renting a kayak is cheap, like 10 bucks for an hour.
also, for tulum, the ruins are cool but the beach below is actually free to access if u walk south from the public entrance. just watch for the rocky spots when swimming. and the cenote calavera has a rope swing, which is fun but can be a bit sketchy if ur not a strong swimmer.

Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
