**🗺️ Day 1: Downtown** Start your first day in the heart of Irbid at the Arab Cultural Center, located on King Abdullah I Street. Explore the nearby Souk al-Hal, a bustling market where you can sample local olives and spices. For lunch, head to Al-Quds Restaurant on Al-Madina Street for authentic mansaf, a Jordanian lamb dish. In the afternoon, visit the Irbid Museum, which houses artifacts from the Bronze Age to the Islamic era. **🚌 Getting Around** Irbid's public buses and shared taxis (servees) are cheap, with fares around 0.30 to 0.50 JOD per ride. To reach the university district, take a bus from the central station on Al-Hashmi Street; the trip takes about 15 minutes. For more flexibility, consider renting a car from one of the agencies near the city center, with rates starting at 20 JOD per day. **🏛️ Day 2: University District** Spend your second day around Yarmouk University, the city's intellectual hub. Begin at the Jordan Museum of Popular Heritage, located on the university campus, to see traditional costumes and crafts. Then stroll through the campus gardens, which are open to visitors. For lunch, try the student-favorite shawarma at Abu Ahmad's on University Street, just a 5-minute walk from the main gate. **🍽️ Local Dining** For dinner, head to the Al-Mazra'a area, known for its family-run restaurants. Try Al-Mazra'a Restaurant for grilled kebabs and fresh mezze, with mains averaging 5 to 8 JOD. If you prefer a sweet treat, visit the famous Halabi Sweets on King Hussein Street, where a box of knafeh costs about 3 JOD. Most restaurants open from noon to midnight, but some close between 4 and 6 PM. **🏞️ Day 3: Nature Escapes** On your final day, take a short 20-minute taxi ride to the ancient ruins of Beit Ras, also known as Capitolias. Explore the Roman-era tombs and the remains of a theater, with an entrance fee of 2 JOD. Afterward, head to the nearby Ajloun Forest Reserve, about 40 minutes away by car, for hiking trails and panoramic views. The reserve is open from 8 AM to 4 PM, and a day pass costs 7 JOD. **🛍️ Shopping and Souvenirs** For souvenirs, visit the Al-Hashmi Souk, where you can find handwoven rugs and pottery. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the quoted price. If you need a break, stop by the Irbid Mall on Al-Madina Street, which has a food court and international brands. The mall is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. **🌙 Evening Strolls** End each day with a walk through Al-Sareeh Park, a popular spot for families and couples. The park is lit until 11 PM, and you can enjoy a cup of tea from the kiosk near the entrance. For a livelier scene, head to the cafes along Al-Madina Street, where you can smoke shisha and watch the city go by. Most cafes stay open until midnight. **💡 Practical Tips** Carry small bills for taxis and market purchases, as many vendors cannot break large notes. Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites, and cover your shoulders and knees. English is widely understood in tourist areas, but learning a few Arabic phrases like 'shukran' (thank you) will be appreciated. Always confirm taxi fares before starting your trip, or insist on using the meter.
