Getting around Irbid in 5 months?

heading to Irbid in about 5 months and trying to figure out the best way to get around. are buses reliable or should I just rely on service taxis? heading to Irbid in about 5 months and trying to figure out the best way to get around. are buses reliable or should I just rely on service taxis?

service taxis are def the move, but just a heads up the shared ones can get crowded during rush hour especially around 2-3pm when uni students are flooding out. if you're going somewhere specific and want a private ride just tell the driver "khas" and theyll charge you more but its still cheap like 2-3 jd for most places in the city. yarmouk university area has its own bus station near the main gate that runs to different parts of town if you wanna try that once. also download Careem just in case, its useful for late nights when service taxis thin out after 10pm

honestly, service taxis are your best bet for getting around Irbid, they're everywhere and dirt cheap, like 50 piastres for most trips within the city. buses do exist but they're more for longer routes to places like the university or out to the villages, and they don't run on a proper schedule. just flag down any white taxi with a green sign on the door, tell the driver your destination, and they'll pick up other passengers along the way. be ready to do some walking too, especially in the downtown area where streets get tight and traffic is a nightmare around noon.

yeah service taxis are the way to go, they're super cheap and easy to flag down. just keep an eye out for the ones that go to your area, the drivers will shout the route out the window
