**🏛️ Start at the Kanpur Memorial Church** Begin your visit at the Kanpur Memorial Church, built in 1875 to commemorate the British soldiers who died in the 1857 uprising. The church features striking Gothic architecture and a serene garden with a memorial well. It's located on Albert Lane, near the city center, and is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with free entry. **🛍️ Shop at Naveen Market** For a true local experience, head to Naveen Market, the city's oldest shopping district. You'll find everything from leather goods and textiles to street food stalls serving chaat and samosas. The market is busiest in the evenings, so plan to visit after 5 PM for the full buzz. **🛶 Boat on the Ganges at Sarsaiya Ghat** Escape the city noise with a peaceful boat ride on the Ganges at Sarsaiya Ghat, about 15 kilometers from the center. Boats can be hired for around INR 200 per person for a 30-minute ride, and the best time is early morning or sunset. The ghat is less crowded than those in Varanasi, offering a more intimate experience. **🍛 Eat at the Moti Mahal** No visit to Cawnpore is complete without dining at Moti Mahal, a legendary restaurant known for its North Indian cuisine. Try their butter chicken and dal makhani, which have been perfected over decades. The restaurant is located at 40/12 Mall Road and is open from 11 AM to 11 PM, with mains averaging INR 300-500. **🏞️ Explore the Allen Forest Zoo** The Allen Forest Zoo, also known as Kanpur Zoological Park, is one of the oldest zoos in India and set within a lush forest. It houses a variety of animals including white tigers, leopards, and crocodiles. Entry is INR 50 for adults, and the zoo is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, closed on Mondays. **🎭 Catch a Show at the Kanpur Auditorium** For evening entertainment, check the schedule at the Kanpur Auditorium on Mall Road, which hosts plays, concerts, and cultural events throughout the year.
