**🍜 Must-Try Local Dishes** Putian is famous for its seafood and Fujian cuisine. The signature dish is Putian braised noodles (Putian lu mian), a thick noodle soup with clams, pork, and vegetables. Another must-try is fried oysters with eggs (o a jian), crispy on the outside and tender inside. **🏪 Top Street Food Stalls** Head to Wenxian Road Night Market for authentic street food. Try the grilled squid at stall No. 12 (around 15 CNY per skewer) and the peanut soup at the corner stall near the east gate. Most stalls operate from 5 PM to midnight. **🍽️ Best Restaurants for Seafood** For a sit-down seafood feast, visit Haixian Lou at 88 Meizhou Avenue. Their steamed crab with ginger and scallops is excellent, with prices around 80-150 CNY per person. Another option is Putian Seafood Plaza at 256 Dongyuan Road, open 11 AM to 10 PM. **🥟 Where to Find Dim Sum** For morning dim sum, try Chaozhou Teahouse at 34 Chengxiang Road. Their shrimp dumplings and pork buns are freshly made, costing 5-8 CNY per dish. Arrive before 9 AM to avoid long queues. **🌿 Vegetarian-Friendly Options** Vegetarian travelers can enjoy Buddhist-style mock meat at Lianhua Vegetarian Restaurant, 15 Nanmen Street. Their braised tofu with mushrooms is a highlight, with set meals from 30 CNY. They are open daily from 11 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM. **💰 Price Ranges and Budget Tips** Street food snacks cost 5-20 CNY, while a meal at a mid-range restaurant runs 50-100 CNY per person. For budget dining, try the food court at Putian Wanda Plaza (2nd floor), where a filling bowl of noodles costs around 15 CNY. **🚌 Getting to Food Hotspots** Most food areas are accessible by bus. Take bus route 1 or 5 to Wenxian Road Night Market. For Haixian Lou, bus 12 stops right outside. Taxis are also affordable, with most rides within the city center costing under 20 CNY.
