Best way to meet people in Sao Paulo 2026?

Question

I'm moving to Sao Paulo in 2026 and I want to find a regular crowd, not just one-off events. Any tips on recurring meetups, clubs, or cafes like Vintage Coffee & Emporium where people actually talk to newcomers? I don't speak much Portuguese yet, so that's part of the worry.

Language exchanges at places like Boteco Bilingue in Pinheiros are good for this, they run weekly and mix Brazilians learning English with gringos learning Portuguese. Your broken Portuguese is actually the icebreaker there.

join a futebol de várzea team or a corrida group in Ibirapuera, they meet same time every week & ppl actually remember u. language sorts itself out faster than u think
