🍜 Must-Try Local Dishes
Start with bun cha ca, a fish cake noodle soup that's a Nha Trang specialty. Another iconic dish is nem nuong, grilled pork skewers wrapped in rice paper with herbs and dipping sauce. For a lighter option, try banh canh, a thick noodle soup with fish or crab. These dishes are available at many local eateries for around 30,000 to 50,000 VND per bowl.

🍽️ Top Restaurants
For a sit-down meal, head to Lanterns Vietnamese Restaurant at 34 Nguyen Thien Thuat, which serves fresh spring rolls and clay pot dishes for about 100,000 to 200,000 VND. Another favorite is Nha Trang Seafood at 46 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, known for its grilled lobster and crab. Both are open for lunch and dinner, with prices ranging from 150,000 to 500,000 VND per person.

🦐 Street Food Stalls
The area around Cho Dam Market (Dam Market) is a street food paradise, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. Look for stalls selling banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) for about 20,000 VND and grilled seafood skewers for 10,000 to 30,000 VND each. Don't miss the fresh sugarcane juice and coconut ice cream sold by vendors along Tran Phu Street.

🌊 Seafood by the Beach
For the freshest seafood, head to the restaurants along the beach on Tran Phu Street, such as Thap Ba Seafood at 52 Tran Phu. You can pick your own seafood and have it grilled or steamed to order. Expect to pay around 200,000 to 400,000 VND per person for a seafood feast. The area is busiest in the evening, so arrive early to snag a table with a view.

🥢 Local Markets
Cho Xom Moi (Xom Moi Market) at 49 Ngo Gia Tu is a great spot to sample local snacks like banh beo (steamed rice cakes) and che (sweet soup). The market is open from 6 AM to 6 PM, and most snacks cost between 10,000 and 20,000 VND. It's a bustling place where you can eat like a local and stock up on fresh fruit.

🌃 Evening Food Spots
As the sun sets, the night market on Tran Quang Khai Street comes alive with stalls selling grilled squid, skewers, and Vietnamese pizza (banh trang nuong) for around 20,000 to 40,000 VND. Another evening favorite is the area around Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, where you'll find many restaurants and bars offering late-night eats. For a unique experience, try oc (sea snails) at the stalls on Nguyen Tat Thanh Boulevard, open until midnight.

💰 Budget-Friendly Eats
Nha Trang is very affordable for food lovers. A bowl of pho or bun bo nam bo typically costs 30,000 to 50,000 VND at local eateries like Pho Hong at 30 Le Thanh Ton. For a quick snack, grab a banh mi from a street cart for 15,000 to 25,000 VND. Many local restaurants offer set lunches for under 100,000 VND, especially in the backpacker area around Biet Thu Street.

🍲 Vegetarian Options
Vegetarians are well catered for in Nha Trang. Bo De Vegetarian Restaurant at 15 Tran Quang Khai serves a wide range of meat-free Vietnamese dishes, with mains around 50,000 to 80,000 VND. Another good choice is An Lac Vegetarian at 12 Nguyen Trai, which offers buffet-style meals for about 60,000 VND. Both are open daily for lunch and dinner.

good writeup, the budget section is the useful part. one thing missing: banh canh ghe at the stalls on To Hien Thanh, they only do it mornings and the crab one runs out first. if u want oc, skip the fancy spots & sit on the curb on Vo Thi Sau, cheaper & fresher.

Nem nuong on Nguyen Thien Thuat, after 6pm.

appreciate the effort here, one thing i'd add is the grilled squid carts near the corner of Tran Quang Khai and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai after dark

🗺️ Day 1 Morning Beach
Start your day at 7:00 AM with a swim at Tran Phu Beach, the main strip that runs along the city center. The water is calmest before 9:00 AM, and you'll find plenty of space near the Sailing Club at 72-74 Tran Phu. After drying off, grab a Vietnamese coffee at one of the roadside stalls for about 20,000 VND. Then walk 10 minutes to the Alexandre Yersin Museum at 10 Tran Phu to learn about the city's history.

🍜 Day 1 Afternoon Culture
For lunch, head to the Po Nagar Cham Towers area and try bun cha at a local spot like Quan Bun Cha at 15 To Hien Thanh, open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. After eating, explore the Po Nagar Towers themselves; entry is 30,000 VND and they're open until 6:00 PM. It's a 15-minute walk from the beach, or a 5-minute taxi ride (about 30,000 VND). In the late afternoon, visit the Nha Trang Cathedral at 1 Thai Nguyen, which is open for visitors until 5:00 PM.

🌃 Day 1 Evening Market
As the sun sets, make your way to the Nha Trang Night Market on Tran Quang Khai Street, which comes alive around 6:00 PM. It's a 10-minute walk from the cathedral, and you can sample street food like grilled seafood skewers for 10,000 to 20,000 VND each. For a sit-down dinner, try Lanterns Vietnamese Restaurant at 34 Nguyen Thien Thuat, which serves local dishes from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. End the night with a stroll along the beach promenade.

⛵ Day 2 Island Hopping
Book a boat tour for the day to explore the islands around Nha Trang. Most tours depart from Cau Da Port at 8:00 AM and cost around 300,000 to 500,000 VND, including lunch and snorkeling gear. A typical itinerary includes Mun Island for snorkeling, Mot Island for a seafood lunch, and Tam Island for beach time. The tour usually returns by 4:00 PM, so plan for a full day on the water.

🍽️ Day 2 Evening Relax
After a day on the water, treat yourself to a seafood dinner at one of the local restaurants near the port. Oc Nhoi Ngoi at 5 Tran Quang Khai is a popular spot for grilled scallops and clams, with prices around 50,000 to 100,000 VND per dish. It's a 10-minute taxi ride from Cau Da Port (about 40,000 VND). If you're still energetic, check out the Sailing Club at 72-74 Tran Phu for drinks and music until late.

🏛️ Day 3 Morning History
Dedicate your last morning to the Ba Ho Waterfalls, located about 25 kilometers north of the city. A taxi or Grab car will take around 45 minutes and cost about 300,000 VND one way. Entry to the falls is 50,000 VND, and you can hike to the three tiers, which takes about 2 hours round trip. Bring sturdy shoes and swimwear if you want to take a dip in the pools.

🛍️ Day 3 Afternoon Shopping
Return to the city center by early afternoon and explore the Dam Market (Cho Dam) at 1 Tran Phu. It's open from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is the best place to buy local souvenirs like dried seafood, coffee, and handicrafts. For lunch, grab a bowl of pho at Pho Hong at 20 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, open until 2:00 PM. Then, if time allows, visit the Long Son Pagoda at 20 Thai Nguyen, which is open until 5:00 PM and offers great views from its hilltop location.

🌅 Day 3 Sunset Farewell
Wrap up your trip with a sunset drink at one of the rooftop bars in the city. Skylight at 38 Tran Phu has a 360-degree view and happy hour from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with cocktails around 150,000 VND. It's a 10-minute walk from the Long Son Pagoda. For a final meal, try the grilled fish at Nem Nuong Dang Van Quyen at 16 Dang Van Quyen, a local favorite that opens at 4:00 PM.

hon tam instead for quieter swimming, go before 8

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

the ponagar tower entry is cash only & closes for lunch some days so dont bank on an afternoon visit

Appreciate the detail on timings, that early beach window is accurate. One thing I'd swap: the island tours out of Cau Da all follow roughly the same route, so if you want fewer boats, look at a private longboat from Vinh Truong fishing village instead. Also check the jellyfish situation before swimming at Hon Chong side in the afternoon.
