πŸ—“οΈ Plan Your Trip
A three-day trip to Da Nang works best if you group sights by neighborhood to cut down on travel time. Base yourself in the city center or along the Han River for easy access to restaurants and nightlife. Start each day early to avoid the midday heat and afternoon traffic. Use ride-hailing apps like Grab for quick, affordable transport; a 15-minute ride typically costs 40,000 to 70,000 VND.

πŸŒ… Day 1 Morning: Marble Mountains
Begin your first day at the Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), about 20 minutes by car from the city center. Arrive by 7:30 AM to beat the crowds and the heat; the site opens at 7:00 AM and entry costs 40,000 VND for the elevator plus 40,000 VND for the main peak. Explore the caves, temples, and viewpoints on Thuy Son (Water Mountain). Afterward, head to nearby Non Nuoc Beach for a quick stroll; the beach is a 10-minute walk from the entrance.

🍜 Day 1 Afternoon: City Center
Return to the city center for lunch at a local spot like Mi Quang 1A (1A Hai Phong Street), where a bowl of mi quang costs about 35,000 VND. Then visit the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture (2 Thang 9 Street), open daily from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 60,000 VND entry fee. In the late afternoon, walk across the Dragon Bridge (Cau Rong) and relax at a cafe on Bach Dang Street along the Han River.

πŸŒƒ Day 1 Evening: Han River
For dinner, try a seafood restaurant on Tran Phu Street or head to the night market on Tran Hung Dao Street, which opens around 6:00 PM. The Dragon Bridge breathes fire and water every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM, so time your visit accordingly. After dinner, take a Han River cruise (about 100,000 VND for 45 minutes) or simply enjoy the illuminated bridges from the promenade.

πŸ–οΈ Day 2 Morning: Son Tra Peninsula
Spend the morning exploring the Son Tra Peninsula, a 20-minute drive from the city center. Rent a motorbike (around 150,000 VND per day) or take a Grab to Linh Ung Pagoda, home to the 67-meter-tall Lady Buddha statue. The pagoda is free to enter and opens at 6:00 AM. Continue along the coastal road to see monkeys and panoramic views of Da Nang Bay.

🍽️ Day 2 Afternoon: My Khe Beach
Have lunch at a beachfront restaurant on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, where fresh seafood dishes range from 100,000 to 200,000 VND. Then spend the afternoon relaxing at My Khe Beach, one of Vietnam's most famous stretches of sand. If you're up for water sports, surfboard rentals cost about 200,000 VND for two hours. The beach is less crowded after 3:00 PM, making it ideal for swimming.

πŸŒ‰ Day 2 Evening: Sun World
In the evening, head to Sun World Ba Na Hills for the famous Golden Bridge, but note that the complex is about 45 minutes by car from the city and closes at 10:00 PM. Alternatively, stay in the city and visit the Da Nang Cathedral (156 Tran Phu Street) before it closes at 5:00 PM, then enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Han River. For a unique experience, catch the Love Bridge and Dragon Bridge light show from the east bank.

πŸ›΅ Day 3 Morning: Hoi An Day Trip
On your final day, take a day trip to Hoi An, a 45-minute drive (about 300,000 VND by Grab) from Da Nang. Start early to arrive by 8:00 AM and explore the Ancient Town before the crowds; entry costs 120,000 VND and includes five heritage sites. Wander through the Japanese Covered Bridge, old merchant houses, and tailor shops. Rent a bicycle for 40,000 VND per day to explore the surrounding rice paddies.

🍲 Day 3 Afternoon: Hoi An Food
For lunch, try Cao Lau at a local eatery like Thanh Cao Lau (26 Thai Phien Street) for about 40,000 VND, or sample white rose dumplings at White Rose Restaurant (533 Hai Ba Trung Street). After lunch, visit the Hoi An Central Market for souvenirs and coffee. If time allows, take a short boat ride on the Thu Bon River (about 100,000 VND per person).

πŸŒ™ Day 3 Evening: Return to Da Nang
Return to Da Nang by 6:00 PM to avoid heavy traffic. Spend your last evening at the Helio Night Market (2/9 Street) for street food and live music, open from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. For a final memorable meal, book a table at a riverside restaurant like Apsara (222 Tran Phu Street) and enjoy traditional dance performances. Wrap up your trip with a walk along the Han River promenade to see the city lights.

The neighborhood grouping is smart, that's exactly how I'd plan it. One thing I'd flag on Day 2: if you're going to Ba Na Hills in the evening, the Golden Bridge is genuinely packed after 9am, but by late afternoon it thins out a lot, so your timing actually works better than most itineraries. Just check the cable car schedule because the last descent isn't always at closing time, I've seen people stuck up there longer than planned.

Also for the Son Tra loop, fill your tank before you head up. There's basically one petrol station near the base on Yet Kieu and nothing once you're on the peninsula road, and that ride eats more fuel than you'd expect with the climbs.

good breakdown overall, the neighborhood grouping saves so much time here. one thing id push back on slightly is mi quang 1a, its fine but honestly a bit touristy now, the better bowls are the tiny spots on hoang dieu street for like 25k. & for day 3, if ur doing hoi an, skip the 8am arrival and go around 4pm instead, the ancient town is way nicer at dusk when the lanterns come on and the day trippers have cleared out. grab back to da nang is easy even at 9pm

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

solid writeup, grouping by area is the right call. one thing i'd add: day 2 and day 3 are backwards if you're there on a weekend. ba na hills on a saturday is a zoo, like 45 min just to get on a cable car. flip it, do hoi an on the weekday and ba na on a monday if u can. also the marble mountains elevator only goes partway up, there's still a decent climb after so wear real shoes not flip flops.

πŸ–οΈ Beach Days and Beyond
My Khe Beach stretches for miles and is clean, with umbrella and chair rentals costing around 100,000 VND per day. The best time to swim is early morning before 8 AM or late afternoon after 4 PM to avoid the strong sun. For a quieter vibe, head north to Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach where locals gather for sunrise exercise. Surfers should check the waves from September to March, with board rentals available near the My Khe area for about 200,000 VND per hour.

⛰️ Marble Mountains Exploration
The Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son) are a cluster of five limestone hills about 9 km south of the city center. Entry costs 40,000 VND and an elevator to the top is an additional 15,000 VND. Wear sturdy shoes because there are many stairs and slippery spots. The Huyen Khong Cave inside is a highlight, with a natural skylight and ancient carvings. Go early to avoid tour groups, ideally before 9 AM.

πŸ‰ Dragon Bridge Fire Show
The Dragon Bridge (Cau Rong) breathes fire and water every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM. Arrive by 8:30 PM to secure a good spot on the east bank near the Love Lock Bridge. The show lasts about 15 minutes and draws big crowds, so consider watching from a nearby cafe with a view. After the show, walk along the Han River promenade to see the city lights reflecting on the water.

🍜 Street Food and Markets
Con Market (216 Hung Vuong) is the best spot for local dishes like mi quang and banh xeo, with most plates costing 20,000 to 50,000 VND. For fresh seafood, head to the Han Market area in the evening, where stalls grill scallops and prawns on the spot. Don't miss the chance to try a bowl of bun cha ca, a Da Nang specialty of fish cake noodle soup, at Ba Be restaurant on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street. The market opens around 6 AM and closes by 8 PM.

🏯 Cultural and Historical Sites
The Museum of Cham Sculpture (2 Thang 9 Street) houses the world's largest collection of Cham artifacts, with entry at 60,000 VND and open from 7 AM to 5 PM. For a glimpse of colonial history, visit the Da Nang Cathedral (156 Tran Phu Street), known for its pink facade and French Gothic design. The Ho Chi Minh Museum (Duy Tan Street) offers free entry and provides context on Vietnam's modern history. All three sites are within a short taxi ride of each other.

🌿 Day Trips to Remember
The Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge are a popular day trip, about 45 minutes by car from the city. Tickets cost 900,000 VND for adults and include the cable car and most attractions. For a more natural escape, visit the Son Tra Peninsula, where you can spot rare red-shanked douc langurs and enjoy panoramic views of the bay. Another option is a boat trip to the Cham Islands, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, with snorkeling and fresh seafood lunch included for around 500,000 VND.

🚲 Getting Around the City
Grab and Be are the most convenient ways to get around, with short trips within the city center costing 20,000 to 50,000 VND. Renting a motorbike costs about 100,000 to 150,000 VND per day, but you'll need a valid driver's license and a helmet. For a scenic route, take the local bus number 1 from the city center to Hoi An for 30,000 VND, which runs every 20 minutes from 5:30 AM to 6 PM. Taxis are also plentiful, but always insist on using the meter.

πŸŒƒ Evening Entertainment and Views
For a great night view, head to the Sky36 bar on the 36th floor of the Novotel, where cocktails start at 250,000 VND and the city lights stretch out below. The Han River cruises offer a different perspective, with dinner cruises departing from the Bach Dang pier around 7 PM for about 300,000 VND. If you prefer something low-key, the weekend night market on Tran Hung Dao Street is perfect for browsing souvenirs and snacking on grilled skewers. The market runs from 6 PM to 11 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Solid list, especially the bit about catching Marble Mountains before 9 AM. One thing I'd add on the Dragon Bridge: the fire show is Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM, but it also runs during big festivals like the fireworks competition in June, and those nights are chaos, so plan to walk there rather than ride. If you want the same river view without the crowd, the east bank near the Han River Bridge is calmer and you still see the flames fine.

On food, I'd push back slightly on Con Market being the best spot. It's great for a one-stop tour, but for mi quang I keep going back to a small stall on Hoang Dieu Street, no sign, just a few plastic tables, and it's better than anything in the market for about 30,000 VND. Go before 10 AM or she's sold out.

For Son Tra, rent a motorbike and take the loop road up early, around 6 AM, that's when the douc langurs are actually visible near the top. By 9 they're gone into the canopy.

good writeup, covered a lot of ground. one thing i'd flag on the beach section, My Khe gets packed with Korean tour groups by 7am in peak season so the "before 8am" window is tighter than it sounds, i usually go to the stretch near Vo Nguyen Giap and Phan Tu Chu intersection, way less crowded and same sand.

for Banh xeo specifically, the guide points to Con Market but honestly the best ones are at a spot on Hoang Dieu too, near the corner with Le Dinh Duong, they do it with pork and shrimp for 25k. go around 5pm when the batter is fresh.

also on the Cham Islands, if you get seasick at all, the boat ride out in Sept to Nov can be rough. take the morning trip not the afternoon one, water's calmer.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

really thorough list, saved me from typing half of it out for a friend visiting next month. one thing nobody mentioned yet is the Museum of Cham Sculpture: the 60k ticket is right but the place basically shuts down for lunch, the guards wave you out around 11 and it reopens at 1:30 or so. go in the morning slot or you lose an hour standing around.

also for Ba Na Hills, the 900k is accurate but the real trick is going on a weekday and being at the ticket gate by 7am when it opens, by 9
