the dessert section got the big names but misses larkin's on south country, little counter attached to the old pharmacy, they do a burnt honey soft serve for $6 that beats anything on cream avenue. only open till 8 and closed sundays tho

also on the budget side, the $5 happy hour apps at the local are tiny, like two bites, so if ur actually hungry just order the wings off the regular menu for $13. and yeah the 2:30 to 5 dead zone is real, i've gotten burned trying to grab a late lunch on main more than once. appreciate u mapping the whole thing out tho, the bus routes especially

One thing the guide misses is timing on the weekend brunch spots. The Breakfast Club on Egg Avenue has a line out the door by 9:15 on Saturdays, so I usually hit Morning Brew instead for the avocado toast and a cortado, then walk over to the Saturday market around 10 once the first wave clears.

On the budget side, The Cozy Diner is accurate on price but the meatloaf is the weak link, the full breakfast is the better order. Also worth knowing that most of the downtown kitchens genuinely do go dark between 2:30 and 5, so plan a late lunch or an early dinner rather than trying to eat at 3:30.

this covers a lot of ground but the coffee section is missing the actual best spot. blacksmith coffee on south country road does a proper cortado for $4 and the cardamom bun is worth the detour, open from 6:30 weekdays. morning brew is fine if ur already downtown but blacksmith is where the locals actually go

also the gelato bliss pistachio is legit but skip the salted caramel, its too sweet. the stracciatella is the sleeper pick

appreciate the effort here, the address level detail on Dresden and Buford is better than most posts i see.

the thing i'd actually change is day 1 afternoon. the Oglethorpe museum is tiny and half the time it's between exhibitions, so pairing it with a Buford Highway lunch means you're driving back and forth across Peachtree for not much payoff. i'd flip it, do the museum first thing since it opens at noon on weekdays, then hit Buford after so you're already pointed toward dinner.

also on day 3, the Atlanta History Center at $21.50 is worth it but the real move is going on a weekday before 11 if you can. weekends the Swan House tours sell out by early afternoon and you end up standing around.

one small correction, the Gold Line to the airport is closer to 50 min on a weekday and the Brookhaven station lot fills up by 8am if you're driving in to park.

Good writeup, and the transit specifics are more useful than what most visitors get. The thing I'd change is Day 1 dinner. Skip Town Brookhaven and eat on Buford Highway proper, the stretch around Plaza Fiesta has maybe 40 restaurants in a few blocks and you'll eat better for $12 than $25 anywhere on Dresden.

On the museum, the Oglethorpe one is fine but if you're already doing the Atlanta History Center on Day 3, that's the one worth your time. The Swan House alone is 90 minutes.

One more: the Gold Line to the airport from Brookhaven is closer to 55 minutes on a weekday, and you'll want to leave a solid 20 minute buffer at the station if you're checking bags.

Nice work putting this together, the transit details especially are more accurate than most guides I see for this area.

One thing I'd add for day 1: if you're at the Dresden Drive shops anyway, the little stretch between Wallace Road and Fernwood Circle has a couple of spots the guide doesn't mention. There's a wine bar around 1310 Dresden that does half-price bottles on Tuesday, and the coffee at the place next door beats the Peachtree Road cafe you mentioned.

On the Oglethorpe museum, worth noting it's closed when the university is on break, so check the academic calendar before you build a weekday around it. I showed up on a random Monday in December once and it was dark.

For the Decatur day, if the show at Porter Sanford doesn't line up, the Eddie's Attic on North McDonough is a smaller room with better sound and tickets usually run $15 to $25.
