🍽️ Where to Start
Begin your culinary tour at the Central Market (Ploshchad Ushakova, 1), open daily from 7:00 to 19:00, where you can sample fresh produce, cheeses, and smoked fish. For a quick bite, grab a cheburek (deep-fried turnover) from one of the street stalls near the waterfront for about 100-150 RUB. Then head to the historic center along Bolshaya Morskaya Street, where many restaurants cluster.

πŸ₯Ÿ Must-Try Local Dishes
Sevastopol's cuisine reflects its Black Sea location, so don't miss fresh mussels and oysters from local farms, often served at restaurants like Rybatskaya Derevnya (Fisherman's Village) on the Balaklava embankment. Another staple is ukha, a clear fish soup, best enjoyed at seaside cafes for around 300-400 RUB. For meat lovers, try krymsky cheburek, a Crimean Tatar pastry filled with lamb, available at Chiberek (Bolshaya Morskaya St, 10) for about 120 RUB.

🐟 Seafood Specialties
The Black Sea provides excellent seafood, and you can taste it at restaurants like Adriano (Nakhimova Ave, 13) or Balaklava's Fish & Wine (Naberezhnaya Nakhimova, 5). Expect to pay 500-800 RUB for a plate of grilled mullet or red mullet. For a budget option, visit the fish market at the Central Market and ask for freshly smoked goby, a small local fish, sold by weight for around 200 RUB per 100g.

🍷 Wine and Dine
Sevastopol is surrounded by vineyards, and the Crimean wine scene is thriving. Visit the tasting room at Inkerman Winery (Chernomorskaya St, 6) for a guided tour and tasting starting at 500 RUB. For a full meal, book a table at Vino Grad (Bolshaya Morskaya St, 28), which offers a seasonal menu paired with local wines, with mains around 600-900 RUB.

πŸ₯™ Street Food and Snacks
Street food in Sevastopol is affordable and flavorful. Look for stalls selling shawarma (around 150-200 RUB) near the bus station and along Lenina Street. Another favorite is hot corn on the cob, sold from carts in the summer for about 50 RUB. For a sweet treat, try a Crimean Tatar baklava from the bakery at the Central Market, priced at around 80 RUB per piece.

🍲 Neighborhood Gems
Venture beyond the tourist center to discover local favorites. In the Gagarinsky district, Cafe Khmeli (Prospekt Gagarina, 12) serves hearty Russian and Ukrainian dishes like borscht and vareniki for 200-300 RUB per plate. For a cozy atmosphere, head to the Balaklava neighborhood, where the small cafe Listya (Naberezhnaya Nakhimova, 3) offers homemade pastries and coffee with a view of the bay.

πŸ’° Budget and Prices
Sevastopol offers good value for travelers. A budget lunch at a cafeteria (stolovaya) like Varenichnaya (Lenina St, 15) costs around 200-300 RUB for a full meal. Mid-range restaurants charge 500-1000 RUB for a main course, while fine dining can go up to 2000 RUB. Keep in mind that many places accept cash only, so carry rubles.

πŸ•’ Best Times to Eat
Most restaurants open around 10:00 and serve lunch from 12:00 to 16:00, often with business lunch specials for 250-400 RUB. Dinner service starts at 18:00 and can get busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended for popular spots like Adriano. In summer, outdoor terraces along the waterfront are ideal for evening meals, but arrive early to snag a table with a view.

Cheburechnaya on Lenina, lunchtime business special.

the bit about Adriano is right but book the terrace not the inside, the room gets loud. fwiw I'd add the stolovaya inside the Panorama museum, cheap borscht and a view over the bay, around 200 RUB. not fancy but you eat with locals and half the tour groups miss it.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Day 1 Morning: City Center
Start at Nakhimov Square, the city's main plaza, and watch the morning bustle around the Monument to Nakhimov. From there, walk 10 minutes to the Count's Quay (Grafskaya Pristan), a historic landing stage with views of the bay and ships. Grab a coffee at one of the kiosks along the waterfront for around 150 RUB. Then head to the nearby Art Museum on Nakhimova Avenue, open 10:00 to 17:00, closed Mondays.

πŸ›οΈ Day 1 Afternoon: History
After lunch, visit the Panorama Museum on Historical Boulevard, a 15-minute walk from the center. The museum houses a massive 360-degree painting of the Crimean War siege, and entry costs about 300 RUB. From there, take bus 10 or 16 to the Malakhov Kurgan, a hilltop memorial with sweeping views over the city and harbor. The whole area is free to explore and makes for a sobering but beautiful afternoon.

πŸŒ† Day 1 Evening: Waterfront
Return to the center and stroll along Primorsky Boulevard, which runs above the harbor and offers classic sunset views. For dinner, try the seafood at "Ryba" on Bolshaya Morskaya Street, where a meal for two runs about 2500 RUB. Afterward, catch a show at the Lunacharsky Theater or simply enjoy the evening lights reflecting off the water.

🏰 Day 2 Morning: Chersonesus
Take bus 22 from the city center to Chersonesus, an ancient Greek colony and UNESCO site about 30 minutes away. Arrive early (opens at 9:00) to beat the crowds and explore the ruins, including the ancient basilica and the fog bell. Entry to the archaeological park is around 400 RUB, and guided tours are available for an extra fee. Wear comfortable shoes, as the site is large and uneven.

β›ͺ Day 2 Afternoon: St. Vladimir
After Chersonesus, walk 15 minutes to the St. Vladimir Cathedral, a stunning 19th-century church with panoramic views of the coast. The cathedral is free to enter and open daily from 8:00 to 18:00. Have lunch at the nearby "Kavkazskaya Plennitsa" on Prospekt Gagarina, where a hearty meal costs about 800 RUB. Then take bus 22 back to the center for a short rest.

🍽️ Day 2 Evening: Local Flavors
For dinner, head to "Mama Russa" on Lenina Street, a cozy spot serving traditional Russian dishes like borscht and pelmeni for around 1200 RUB per person. Afterward, explore the nearby Art Boulevard, a pedestrian street with street performers and local artists. End the night at a wine bar like "Vino i Syr" on Bolshaya Morskaya, where a glass of Crimean wine costs about 300 RUB.

🚌 Day 3 Morning: Balaklava
Take bus 2 from the city center to Balaklava, a charming harbor town about 40 minutes away. Start with a walk along the embankment and then visit the Balaklava Naval Museum, housed in a former secret submarine base. Entry is 500 RUB, and tours run hourly from 10:00 to 16:00. The museum is fascinating but claustrophobic, so it's not for everyone.

πŸ₯Ύ Day 3 Afternoon: Fortress Hike
After lunch at "Izbrannik" on the Balaklava embankment (try the fresh fish, about 1500 RUB for two), hike up to the Chembalo Fortress ruins. The trail starts near the harbor and takes about 30 minutes to climb, offering spectacular views of the bay. There's no entry fee, and the site is open from dawn to dusk. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes, as the path is rocky.

πŸŒ… Day 3 Evening: Farewell
Return to Sevastopol by bus 2, which runs until 22:00. For a final dinner, splurge at "Balaklava" on Nakhimova Avenue, known for its seafood and panoramic terrace, with mains around 1000 RUB. Afterward, take a sunset walk along the Kornilov Embankment and watch the ships in the bay. It's a peaceful end to a packed three days.

Nice writeup, saving this for my trip. One thing: Chersonesus is way better in late afternoon light, the fog bell photos at golden hour are unreal. Mornings there are packed with tour groups by 10.

Museum of the Black Sea Fleet, closed Mondays.
