I finally managed to organize a hotel in this area and from the times I've been walking Thonglor street up and down to and fro Sukki I have to say I'm surprised about how little is going on here. Where is the legendary bar scene? Is it hidden in some soi? Cause I can't find anything on Thonglor itself.

ngl the main drag of thonglor is mostly overpriced restaurants and cafes, the real action is in the sois like the other person said. but also consider that thonglor's vibe skews more towards upscale lounges and craft cocktail spots than clubs tbh. if u want a proper party scene with dancing, walk or take a motorbike taxi over to ekkamai soi 10, there's a few clubs like ekkamai beer house and the hip hop spot 12 bar that get packed later. also check out the small bar on thonglor soi 13 called ba hao, it's a tiny Chinese themed speakeasy with strong drinks and no sign out front, just a red door

yeah thonglor's kinda infamous for that first impression. the main road is mostly high-end condos and overpriced cafes, the nightlife is all in the back sois. if you're near sukhumvit, head to soi 55 and walk past the gas station, there's a tiny soi called sois 49/2 or something with some low-key wine bars and a place called the iron fairies that's easy to miss. also try the rooftop bar at the jw marriott, it's not on thonglor proper but the view's solid and the crowd's a bit older. honestly the whole area's more about hidden speakeasies than a strip of clubs, you have to know the entrance code or look for a unmarked door

you're on the right track but thonglor's nightlife is more about the hidden second-floor spots and soi offshoots than the main road itself. try walking down soi 49 or soi 63 instead, there's a cluster of places like the roof at w hotel or the speakeasy-style tichuca rooftop which gets packed. also the area around ekkamai just one bts stop up has a grittier bar scene like the iron fairies or sing sing theater if you want something less polished

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
