Majority of them have good amenities which I want so it's tempting to book one. What's your experience with Airbnb? If not, where should I look instead and what areas are good to stay?

Thanks in advance!

yeah legally short term airbnbs (under 30 days) are technically not allowed without a hotel license but tons of people still do it and it's rarely enforced for tourists tbh. just be aware that if any neighbor complains or the building has strict rules you could get kicked with no refund

if u want the same amenities with zero risk, look at serviced apartments instead. places like ascott, somerset, or citadines have pools, gyms, kitchens and are cheaper than hotels. for areas, sukhumvit between asok and thong lo is the sweet spot for food, transport, and nightlife. phra khanong is a bit quieter but still has good bts access and way better prices

personally i'd skip airbnb and book a serviced apartment on agoda or directly with the building. same vibe, legal, and if something's wrong they'll move u to another room within an hour

yeah it's technically illegal for under 30 days but honestly no one really enforces it unless there's a noise complaint or something. tons of people still book short airbnbs here and it's fine, just check reviews for the host being responsive

if u want something more legit without the headache though, look at serviced apartments. places like Ascott or Somerset let you book for a week or two and they come with pools, gyms, the works. for areas, Sukhumvit between Asok and Thong Lo is solid if u want nightlife and food, or Sathorn if u prefer quieter but still central

yeah what they said about airbnb is true, not worth the hassle for short stays. try looking on booking.com or agoda for "serviced apartments" instead, same amenities but legal and often cheaper. for area, i'd go with on nut if you want budget-friendly with markets and bts access, or siam if you want to be in the middle of everything

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
