ngl reddit's not great for meeting actual thai people here, most locals are on facebook or line groups. try searching "bangkok meetup" on facebook or look up "bangkok social club" on meetup.com, they do weekly events at places like the speakeasy on sukhumvit 26. if you're near thong lo, the bar on soi 55 has a decent mix of locals and travelers on friday nights
honestly skip reddit for this, most thai people are on pantip or facebook groups like "bangkok expats" or "thai language learners" way more active for meetups. line is also huge here, you can find open chats through thai friends or even just search "bangkok meetup line group" on google. if you're dead set on reddit, r/thailandtravel gets traffic but it's 90% itinerary spam. merry christmas too, hope you find some good company

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
