Looking for an attractive and educated Thai woman to date and eventually marry. I'm from a Western country and am white as they come.

Would any of the Thai specific dating websites or apps be a good place to start, or are there any matchmaking services in Bangkok that specialize in this? From what I've read, dating websites/apps are just a front end for freelancers and I'm just trying to avoid that. Nothing against it at all, but that's not the type of "relationship" I'm after.

ngl the whole "find a wife" framing might be working against you here, thai women who are educated and from good families tend to be pretty wary of guys who come in with that energy. i'd say focus on being part of normal life in bangkok rather than treating it like a mission.

if you're in thong lo or ekkamai area, try hanging out at places like roots coffee or the commons, they're full of creative professionals and thai women who work in design or marketing. also check out events at warehouse 30 or the jam factory on weekends, those attract a more artsy and educated crowd. just be normal about it, chat about the art or the coffee, and let things develop naturally over time.

for something more structured, try taking a language class at union language school near asok. it's mostly thai professionals learning english or chinese, and you'll meet people who are serious about their careers. plus you'll actually learn some thai which helps a ton with credibility. just don't lead with your passport or your bank account, that's the fastest way to get written off.

a lot of people overlook the religious angle but it works. if you go to a temple like wat phra kao on a sunday morning there's a whole community of educated thai women who volunteer there. they're not there to meet guys but if you're respectful and actually help with the cleaning or food prep you'll get introduced around. it's slow but the connections are real.

another move is the bangkapi area near ramkhamhaeng university. there's a night market called the walk that's full of grad students and young professionals. not touristy at all. grab a coffee at the little shop near the entrance and just be a regular. after a few visits people start recognizing you and conversations happen naturally.

for a more direct route look into the thai-chinese chamber of commerce events. they do networking dinners and business mixers where the women are usually from well-off families with degrees abroad. you don't need to be in business to attend just buy a ticket for the dinner. dress smart casual and talk about things other than yourself.

imo the whole "find a wife" framing is a bit off putting to the kind of women you're after. thai women who are educated and from good families tend to be pretty cautious about western men with that energy. they've seen the midlife crisis types and the passport bros and they avoid them

instead of looking for a wife, look for a community. join the bangkok art scene or a book club at kinokuniya in siam paragon. there's a thai language exchange at the british council on sathorn that skews heavily female and professional. make friends first, let something develop naturally. the women you want are the ones who won't be impressed by your wallet, they'll be impressed that you actually know which bts stop is theirs

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
