Best fine dining in Bangkok, menu less than 3500THB per person?

arrow_drop_up 2515 arrow_drop_down

another option is aksorn, they do a tasting menu focused on old thai cookbooks and it's around 2800 per person. the space is on the top floor of a building on charoenkrung with a terrace overlooking the river. their gaeng som with soft shell crab is probably the best version i've had in bangkok. just note they do two seatings and the later one can run a bit slow

sorn is probably the most famous but their menu starts above that price point. try r-hann, they do a seasonal Thai tasting menu for around 2500-3000 and the space is tiny, like 12 seats. also check out 80/20 which is more modern Thai and usually stays under 3500 if you skip the wine pairing. both are on the same street in charoenkrung so you could even do a walk around the area first

for that budget, try the lunch at elements on the 25th floor of the okura prestige. their 5-course set is around 2500 and the view over wireless road is hard to beat, especially if you get a window table. the food is more french with asian touches rather than purely thai, so it's a different vibe from the sorn/le du crowd. just book the lunch slot, dinner runs way higher

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
