Anybody know of a place that can repair the fabric on athletic shoes? (the roadside places I tried said they only repair the soles)

I've asked a a couple of those roadside stands that repair shoes but they said they only fix the shoe soles -- they don't repair fabric, or at least can't repair the nylon fabric on my shoes.

I already found patches that can be sewn on, but the fabric needs some special sewing skills that are beyond my dexterity. I'm in the Saphan Khwai area so anything between Sanam Pao up to Hayak Latpro or the nearby BTS or MRT stops would be awesome if anybody knows of some kind of shoe cobbler or maybe even a sesmstress that can do such as task?

there's a guy at the union mall on phahon yothin, near the bts ha yaek lat phrao exit 3, who does custom shoe repairs, not just soles. he's on the ground floor near the food court, small stall with a sewing machine and a bunch of sneakers stacked up. i took a pair of asics there with a mesh rip near the heel and he reinforced it with a patch and some stitching for 250 baht, took about 20 mins. he's got a bunch of thread colors so he matched mine pretty close, just show him the patches u already have and he'll prob work with them.

honestly the best bet might be a leather repair shop not a shoe guy. there's one on phahon yothin soi 7 called something like "leather master" or similar, they do fabric repairs on sneakers. i took a pair of new balances there with a similar rip near the toe and they stitched it up with matching thread for 200 baht. also if you're near chatuchak, the weekend market has a few stalls in section 4 that do custom sewing on shoes and bags, they're open sat-sun only though

Yeah there's a fabric repair lady in the Soi Ari night market area, near the BTS exit 4. She's not a shoe person but does all sorts of sewing fixes, I've seen her patch up nylon bags and tent stuff. Just bring the shoes and patches and she'll prob do it for cheap, like 100-200 baht.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
