5k/10k Race?
another option is the bangkok charity run at rajabhakti park on dec 16, it's a 5k and 10k that loops around the new government complex area, pretty flat and wide roads. registration is 350 baht and you get a dri-fit shirt and a medal, plus they have food stalls after. the course is mostly shaded in the morning which is nice since it starts at 6am. i've done it before and it's well organized for the price, just check their facebook page for the exact registration deadline since it fills up quick
since nobody mentioned it yet, the bts fun run on dec 9 at sanam pao is a 5k that goes along the bts skytrain line underneath, super flat and weirdly fun because you're running right under the tracks. registration is free but you gotta sign up early on their website, they cap it at like 500 people and it fills in a day. also the thai health promotion run at benjakitti on nov 30 is a 10k with a 5k option, only 100 baht and they give out fruit instead of the usual plastic swag, which i appreciate
one more you mightve missed is the asics bangkok running festival at benjakitti on dec 7-8, they have a 5k and 10k with a night run option on saturday. it's smaller than the amazing thailand one but still has good swag bags and a proper finish line at the park. entry is around 500 baht if you register early

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
