Bangkok's Hidden Oasis?

So I stayed at the Pattern Boutique Hotel, right near the Chao Phraya River. The place was gorgeous, seriously Instagram-worthy. The place was gorgeous, seriously Instagram-worthy. But I'm wondering, what's the best way to get around Bangkok from there without getting completely ripped off by a taxi? I tried using the BTS, but navigating to the nearest station with all the back streets was a nightmare. Any tips from locals? I want to explore more than just the hotel's amazing rooftop bar, which, by the way, has the best cocktails...

honestly from pattern hotel u should just walk down to tha tien pier, its like a 10 min stroll. from there u can take the orange flag boat for like 15 baht, goes all the way to nonthaburi or back to saphan taksin for the bts. tbh its the cheapest and most scenic way to avoid taxi meter scams and street traffic. after that u can grab a motorbike taxi for short hops to the main roads if u need.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
