Always liked their imported stuff. Last time I was there, though, I swear I saw a tiny, almost invisible, green gecko chilling in the fresh produce aisle. It was gone when I looked again, but I'm convinced it was there! Anyone else ever experienced some weird, unexplained things at Tops? Maybe it's just me, but it felt...off. I wanna know if anyone else has spotted the little green guy or had a similar experience

thai basil is a gecko magnet honestly. the one on sukhumvit 49 has this whole wall of herbs near the entrance and i've seen them dart between the mint and coriander more than once. not sure about "unexplained" but the air con in there makes the whole place feel like a crisper drawer

Geckos are everywhere in Bangkok, so you probably did see one. Tops on Soi Thonglor has an open-air section near the back that basically invites them in. I've had one drop onto my shoulder while I was picking out avocados there, so the little green guy is just part of the territory.

haha i've def seen some weird stuff at tops too. not a gecko but once i swear i saw the same bag of chips move like a foot down the aisle when no one was near it. probably just the ac but it was creepy

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
