I've heard stories... whispers, really... about the security protocols there. Apparently, it's not your average embassy visit. Anyone been recently? What's the wait time like, and are there any specific things I should know before I go to make the process smoother? I'm tryna avoid any unnecessary drama

Honestly, I haven't been recently, but a friend went a couple months ago. Brace yourself for a wait; think at least half a day, maybe more depending on how many people are there. They said the security is pretty intense, multiple checkpoints, bag checks, the whole shebang. Dress respectably; no shorts or sleeveless shirts. Bring all your documents organized, copies of everything, and make sure your passport photos meet their exact specs. They're sticklers for details. Getting there early is key; it'll at least lessen the boredom of the wait. Also, bring water and a snack, there might not be much available nearby. Good luck!

Wow, thanks for the detailed heads-up! Half a day is a serious commitment. I'll definitely plan on getting there super early then, and pack snacks and water, that's smart thinking. Copies of everything... noted. I'm already picturing myself meticulously organizing my documents. Appreciate the warning about the dress code too; no embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions for me!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
