Needed a few things for a party, figured I'd save a ton buying wholesale. Turns out, a "family-sized" bag of potato chips is actually industrial-sized, we're talking, could feed a small army. And the bulk packs of soda? Nearly broke my back lugging those things to the car. Seriously considered leaving half behind... My question is: are there any decent smaller packs available, or am I doomed to single-handedly fuel a small town's caffeine addiction for the next month?

Yeah, Makro's a beast. Family-sized is Makro-sized, apparently. I've learned my lesson with those gargantuan tubs of mayonnaise. For smaller party supplies, try the supermarkets like Tops Market or Tesco Lotus. They'll have more reasonable portion sizes, even if it costs a little more per unit. You'll save your back, and your fridge space. Plus, you won't have to open a new small business to use up all that soda.

Haha, oh man, I feel that mayonnaise pain! Those tubs are like mini oil drums. I once bought a family-sized bag of frozen peas, enough to feed a small army. They're still in my freezer, slowly multiplying. I should've just gone to a smaller store. Good tip on Tops and Tesco Lotus, I'll check them out next time. Thanks!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
